i too want a shiny new bigger ipod - a pink one! but since you've done sooo well so far, i say wait until march...delayed gratification is so much more exciting and then you will (may?!) feel virtuous that you have waited a bit longer, showing some of the restraint that you have been practicing and knowing that you have paid a bit more of the debt earlier.
just a thought! good luck whichever way you go and let us know what colour it is when you get it!Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

Morning all!
Thanks to those who have commented and suggested that I buy the iPod - I think I'm going to do that this weekend as I get paid on Friday.I'm going to try and be as MSE as possible though - I get a discount at the online Apple store through work, so I will save about a tenner that way, and I will use my Moneyback card for 1% cashback as well. Although I would get 3% cashback through Quidco, I save more doing it this way!
My plans for today are:
- Finally go and buy food at Asda!!
- Check online banking
- Make PAD
- Remind myself it's only 3 sleeps till payday
- Go to the bank and pay in my overdraft money from my piggy
- Get more moneybags from the bank
- Take flask and sandwiches to work
- Make yummy cheap dinner
- Washing
- Dishes

Ooh tomtombeanie you're like my conscience! That's kind of what I've been thinking too. Eek  what do I do?! :rotfl:0 -
Oh just go and buy it this month - while you have the Council Tax free month;) You really have earned a little treat, and if you're going to buy it anyway, just get it now and enjoy it:beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0

I really am the worst person to ask, hence posting on this forum for the last 2 years :rotfl:
Buy it, buy it, buy it!!!!!
Enjoy your day

OOH FF I was just about to say that I would wait till March so that you can feel dead chuffed and reward yourself for passing through the £1000 mark! I see not many others have said this though. But if your council tax is done like ours, you have March free too so you can spend that money on the IPod, spend this months on killing the debt and then your bonus, if you get it, is a bonus - so to speak
You've done so well though - I might have to try this PAD lark even though I am a little bit sceptical - how much do you usually pay off extra a day, if you don't mind me asking?

I pay off at least £1 a day, but some people on the thread will pay less - 1p is fine as long as you pay something off per day. My biggest payment was over £100 - that is usually when I make Ebay money or get some unexpected lump sum payment!0

I have done everything on my list today apart from get moneybags from the bank, and that's because I am a numpty and forgot all about it
Tomorrow we're going to see The Wrestler at the pictures (Me with my free card, t'other half surfing the Orange Wednesday Wave to get in for nothing too!) but it doesn't start till 8.40pm so I'm going to be a sleepy fresian by the time we get in. I'm yawning now and it's only twenty past nine
I checked my wage slip online today and thanks to cancelling some share schemes (working for a bank, I would be as well to set fire to my money I think :rotfl:) and some overtime, I have £65 more than I thought :j So, I am going to put £35 to my credit card for the theatre tickets I bought, and the other £30 into the pig for t'other halfs birthday, which will now put that fund at over £100.
I also got loads of vouchers in the post today. I pay for £40 of vouchers every month and get them at 5%-8% discount on face value. My work sends them to us at the start of every quarter, so today I got £120 of vouchers! £30 of Amazon, £30 of M&S and £60 of Boots. I can now budget £20 for toiletries and pay for it with vouchers, knowing I have already saved on them. I may go to the big Boots in town and see if there are any more 75% off gifts left :rotfl:
Off to read my book now, might be back later.
Enjoy what's left of the evening all

Brilliant (or as my students have randomly started saying, "Brillo Pads"!) about the vouchers, doubly good if you get the discount off them anyway!
Cheers for the PAD info, just been reading the thread and decided to take the plunge!
Oh and enjoy your book

Great news about the vouchers FF! Guilt free shopping
The Wrestler is brilliant, I saw it the other day. I won't say whay happens, but Micky Rourke, despite being a bit ugly, was absolutely fantastic!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0
