    Good morning!

Just a quick update from me with my plans for today before I run to work to do the last of the available overtime

    • I've checked online banking and done my PAD for today
    • Overtime at work
    • Meet friends for lunch
    • Go and see Fame at the theatre :D
Oh, and one of my cats is lying upside down beside me trying to look cute so I'll pick him up and put him on my knee. Sorry kitty, have to go to work!!

I work in a school. Its the best job I've ever had as far as job satisfaction goes. Yesterday being a friday they all left early so by 5:30 I had the school PA system on blaring out 80s music and the cleaners singing along. Obviously the Head had forgotton something so returned to find the entire school rocking to Wham and me dancing with a mop in the middle of the hall floor which, in my defence, was partially mopped. Me thinks it may be sometime before he ceases to remind me of this.

  • Morning!

Hope you have a good day at work. Is that the last available overtime ever!?! You'll have to let me know what Fame was like, I'd really like to see it. Stuck at work myself but our systems are on a go slow so looks like an easy 6hrs overtime for me...woo hoo :j

Moo2moo - :rotfl: That's so funny, I have some images in my head!! Mind you I think I would do the same if I was you - makes work far more interesting:D

Have a good day all x

    Morning all,

Firstly, an apology (To myself as much as anyone) as I haven't been as active on MSE in the last few days as I normally would be. Work has been really sh*tty and it has kept me in quite the cycle of depression, something I suffered from badly a few years ago, but had pretty much beaten. Now I am feeling quite down and the old paranoid feelings are coming back with a vengeance. I'm not going to let my own brain get my down though, so will be back to your positive Fresian soon hopefully :D

With that in mind, I thought that I would do a "Good Things" post with all of the positive things that I have done since I last got paid waaaayyyy back on the 19th of December. So, here goes (Bulletpoints I'm afraid, it's the easiest way!) all the good things - big and small - that have happened in my DFW life since last payday

    • I've paid off around (if not more than) £300 from my debts on top of my normal payments
    • I've sold things on Ebay and Amazon
    • I've been able to save an additional £72 towards t'other halfs birthday in April which will be his 30th and for which I want to do something really special
    • I've opened a bank account with A&L for £150 cashback (£100 from them and £50 from Quidco)
    • Sold old games, CDs and DVDs on musicmagpie - just waiting for the cheque to come
    • Excluded myself from Gala Bingo for six months and signed up with Bingoport instead for free bingo fun
    • Signed up for free trial with Audible for awesome audiobook fun
    • Sorted out old clothes for charity shop
    • Made a batch of bolognaise so big its still feeding us now :D
    • Resisted the urge to get a new phone contract just for a shiny new iPod Touch (You have no idea how much willpower that took!) and instead negotiated the contract to half price, new phone and airtime credit :T
    • Made shepherds pie for the first time in my life (And it was freakin tasty!)
    • Used my cinema pass to see two movies for free :j
    • Saved nearly £80 on gifts (for me and others :rotfl:) in the Boots sale
    • Got an amazing new flying cow avatar :j
So, despite the pooness of the last few days, I have done really well with my DFW lifestyle, and I shouldn't let the b*ggers get me down.

Oh, I think it was Jolly who asked - Fame was really good. I think I would have appreciated it more if I remembered more of the movie (I think I was a little young for it) but two of the women I went with loved it as they remembered more of it than I did!

I'm off to clean my bathroom then head to Asda (I'm dead exciting me!) so have a lovely Sunday all and I will try and be Happy Fresian from now on.

  • Awww you have done amazingly well hun! Remember that when the world seems like it is against you!

An extra £300 on top of your normal payments is fab especially considering you had Xmas during that pay period!
    Was that all on PAD?

    Well done xxx

  • Hiya FF, sorry you're feeling so crappy at the minute! I don't know what depression is like, but take 5 minutes to read back through what you have achieved so far.... you are doing REALLY well!
As has already been said, feel free to rant any time - we all have to blow off steam occasionally, and here is a good place to do it because there's always lots of support around!

    Keep your chin up hun

hi FF it's a good thing to list all the positives, often we can't see the little positive changes we have made and the difference they have made. I see you on the small things boards each day, and it really brings it home that it's the little daily bits you do that help the most, and help to retrain yourself into better ways.
Sorry to hear about the depression, like others on here i have also suffered quietly with it in the past, and much was either work or finances induced. ((((hugs)))) to you and your kitty who tried so hard to keep your attention. Mine sit on my lap and read everything i'm typing cos they're jealous/nosy so say hi to kitty as well.

    Hi FF,
I'm sorry to hear you are having such a rubbish time at work but please don't let the b***ers grind you down!

I have been lurking on your thread for a while now and I'm amazed at all you have achieved in such a short space of time. Your bullet point list is something you should be incredibly proud of :T  :T  :T

I find your thread very inspiring as my situation is very similar to yours and you have given me a lot to think about over the last few weeks. I've actually had a big clear out this week and am planning to spend much of the rest of today listing things on Ebay and Amazon, inspired by your success. I'm also planning to get on musicmagpie and list some old cds etc and hopefully make a little bit of cash :)

Hope things get better for you very quickly and I look forward to hearing about your further DFW adventures :money:
