    Evening all :D

Just a quick update from me (How often do I say that!!)

I have had quite a good DFW day today, and here's why...

    • Bought chips!
    • Stayed within Weekly Spend budget, and have more than I should have in my purse somehow, so will be able to put £11 cash as my PAD for tomorrow :j
    • Got an email from Quidco and they will be paying my £20 Alliance and Leicester cashback - I had queried it as it had been six weeks and still wasn't showing  That is another PAD for the future, as I have only been using Quidco for a little while and haven't had any payouts as yet.
    • Bought clothes - these are not counted in the weekly spend challenge. Bought a dress and a pair of trousers from Monsoon - total cost = £28. Yay for the 75% off sale! I was on my lunchbreak so didn't try anything on, but will return one item if they don't fit as I don't need two more items of clothing!
My plans for tomorrow have changed slightly. My parents are visiting from the Frozen North and were due to come to Edinburgh tomorrow afternoon, which would have meant going round the local shopping centre with my mum and maybe some groceries for me. Their plans have changed now, so I am going to go to Glasgow to meet up with them. There will still be shopping, but no groceries. Boo!

I am going to hopefully get to Primark and get some nice bits and pieces. I have put on quite a bit of weight recently, so I would like to get some trousers for work that actually fit me, and maybe a dress or two as well. I am mindful of my £100 clothes challenge though, and I did just spend money in Monsoon today as well. I do know that I am in credit on my New Look card by about £19, so I could always buy some trousers from there. Decisions, decisions!!

T'other half is going to post my mobile to Mazuma tomorrow for me, so hopefully my money from them will come soon, I am still due my cheque from musicmagpie. Lots of little pieces of money all adding up!!

Enjoy the rest of your evening all, will probably nip back in later.

    Xx

    Morning everyone!!

I'm just about to get in the shower and get myself ready for my day out with the parents :D I just went and checked on the websites for the bus companies and the train, and it will cost me between £5.70 and £10.50 to return from Glasgow - the journey only takes an hour !!!!!! I really want to get the train instead of the bus, but it's £10+ according to the website, I thought it was about £6. Humph.

On the bright side, I made a PAD of £11 today - leftover money from last weeks spending challenge. I am also starting the spending challenge today instead of tomorrow so I don't go crazy in Glasvegas (The shops are so much better there!) but I will b*gger my budget if I have to pay £10 for the train :rotfl: I have got some clothes to buy, but I'm going to try and be good, and any old ones will go out to a charity shop.

Have a lovely day everyone, will be on later to update you all on my lovely day!

There's no wonder people hate using public transport when it's so expensive. Anyway, enjoy your day and revel in your mom spoiling you! Make sure you wrap up warm froidbonnet.gif

Had a look at magpie yesterday. I could get 37p for the 2nd brigette jones dvd - i didn't like it much either!! Have already tried amazon and no-one wanted it. Think i'll just send it to the charity shop! draguej.gif

    Have fun!!! xx

Found out today my travel pass has gone up by 2.50 per month (doesn't sound like much but was 94.50 to start with!) travel now costs me 1164 per year!!

Yikes! Whereabouts do you live for it to cost that much?

My bus pass isn't bad really, it's £42 per month and that gets me bus travel throughout Edinburgh. It's only when I have to get the train somewhere that I get annoyed :D

Scottish readers note (Might apply Doon South, not sure!) but the Sun is doing a token collect thing next week so you can get two for one travel on the trains - this means that me and t'other half will be able to go Oop North to visit some friends :D Even better, a friend at work gets the Sun every day and says that if I remind her, she will collect the tokens for me, so I don't even have to get the paper! :j

    Hi all hellowave.gif

Well I had a very nice day today in Glasvegas. My dad came through to Edinburgh to collect me and we drove through nice and slowly (My dad likes to conserve fuel :rotfl: a good MSE example!)

I was meant to just wander round the town with my dad as my mum was attending my cousins graduation. This was meant to be yesterday, but the ceiling in the hall collapsed and they had to change venue and do it today. Sadly, they couldn't book the hall for the whole day and it was cancelled for some of the students, my cousin included. I felt really sorry for him. It is quite bad as my mum, dad and uncle had made the four hour drive down, paid for two nights in a hotel, and they will all have to possibly come back next week.

Anyway, I got to have a wander round the shops with my mum - I took her to Primark for the first time. She wouldn't buy anything somewhere like that (She's an M&S bird!) but she let me fill up a basket and paid for it all :D She couldn't believe the prices, and made me check the receipt twice to make sure the man had remembered to put it all through!

Some of the things I bought will have to go back (One pair of jeans had a dodgy zip and one didn't fit) but I have a new pair of work trousers and some nice tops, so I'm happy. I also managed to buy some work trousers from New Look using the credit balance on my card, so the clothing situation has improved.

I also didn't spend any of my own money today - my dad found £1 and gave it to me and then gave me £20. I used the £20 to get the train which cost me £10.30 to go from Glasgow to Edinburgh, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Ho hum. I also used £2.50 for some bits from the shops, so I have £8.20 left, which will go to my Sealed Pot and my PAD.

The other DFW thing I did today was get a free Meal Deal from Boots. I had bought five in the month and so got one free. Most of the ones I had bought were me picking up lunch for my boss, so woo free food!! T'other half got the sandwich and I got juice and Doritos. Yay!

Tomorrow is going to be spent with t'other halfs family, which should be nice, and a trip to the supermarket in the morning hopefully. I need to get all my bits and pieces for lunches next week.

Enjoy the rest of your evening all :D

That sounds like a great day out. You've got to love the Bank of Mum and Dad.

It's the bank that truly likes to say Yes.

DS2 told me that his flat mat's Mum sends a Tesco delivery for him occasionally and she sends so much stuff that they struggle to eat the fresh stuff before it goes out of date- neither of them are trifle-types :rotfl: DS2 is very MSE and wouldn't waste anything :D

Tis also the only bank which rewards its clientelle with chocolate cake and other unexpected niceties.
