    I don't get why people will pay money to get into a cricket match, then sit there all day reading a newspaper? Thats what the highlights are on the telly for! Must be the german side of me coming out there as the english side of me certainly doesn't enjoy it!

    Ah ladies, it's all about drinking beers in the sunshine rather than actually watching the cricket!

    Haha, that sounds about right!

    Some of my friends go and ALWAYS come back sunburnt! ;)

    Being British, I'm used to sporting disappointment so I just drink in the sunshine (can I also point out that I am not a raving alcoholic - only at the weekends!!)

    Evening all!

    LondonAndy - your comment about drinking beer in the sunshine has suddenly made cricket make a lot more sense to me :D

    Ebay sales finished well - I made £40.03 + postage costs from today's sales. :j I sold some make-up and some stuff I bought at the M&S Penny Bazaar. I am only keeping the tea towels for me as I will actually use them. The rest is being used as presents/sold on Ebay. I made £13 from the cufflinks I bought for a few pennies, which amazed me. I was just looking to get rid of clutter!

    I PMd a nice person earlier as I had seen that she had been to the car boot I'm thinking of doing next weekend, but it's hard to find info about it on the internet. I asked about prices etc and she gave me some really good advice, so that was great. MSE strikes again!

    I have more items currently listed for sale. They are looking like this at the moment:

    10 listed
    5 have bids on, totalling £8.38.
    8 of the 10 have people watching them
    One item has 18 watchers!!

    I'm getting quite a nice sense of satisfaction from making money from Ebay. I hadn't really done a lot on it before, but listing a few items a week and making £10-£20 after postage etc is quite nice for the PAD fund and also helps with the constant battle to declutter my house :D

    I've not been online much tonight apart from checking Ebay, as I have been circling things to go and see at the Edinburgh Fringe as the box office opens tomorrow for Friends of the Fringe. I have a list of 8 shows to book tomorrow, which will cost me £150ish. I will get £30 back from workmates for booking for them, and about another £30 from my best mate for her share, so only (!) £90 is for me and t'other half which isn't bad, compared to other years. Of the shows I am looking to book:

    1 is free (Radio 4 comedy)
    1 is a half price preview show
    3 are 2for1 tickets through the preview weekend or my Friends of the Fringe membership

    ...so I'm trying to be as MSE as I can be :rotfl: The thing I always find annoying is that the "big name" comedians are never on any kind of offer. It does tend to be that the locals here go to the 2for1 weekend and then hide from the town for the rest of the festival as the hoards of tourists descend, and we don't see a lot of good offers. For example, Jimmy Carr is £15 for a one hour set. Jerry Sadowitz is £19+. It gets expensive quite quickly.

    We have decided to pay more to see Mark Thomas & Simon Amstell at £12 and £14. I'm going to see Julian Clary too with work friends at £15. It begins to be more expensive than going abroad if you're not careful :D On the bright side, I have been paying my PAD into my instant-access account this month as I knew I would be "splurging" on this, so it's all covered without any need for credit :T

    Massive post from me again, bed soon I think.

    Night all - hurrah for Friday tomorrow!

    Morning all!

    Trying to post quickly as my friends are coming round shortly and we're off to the West Coast (Eek - there be dragons :D) to go to the castle my friend is getting married at in September. I am bridesmaiding!

    Ebay

    Ebay is going well - current state of play is:

    10 items for sale, 8 of which will sell for a total of £21.67 :D

    Mr Fresian is being Postman Pat for me, which means I don't have to go after work. He's a good egg :D

    Money

    I have a payment due from Ebay next week which will go to PAD. I currently have:

    £50 in "spends" and £4 in my purse
    £14 in my PAD account, which will have the Ebay money added to it
    £38.60 in my "entertainment" account, some of which may be spent on lunch out today
    £65.49 in my groceries account which will go down tomorrow if I can get a lift to Asda from a long-suffering pal

    I get paid on the 23rd, so it's not looking too bad in terms of keeping my head above water till then.

    I tried to book my Festival tickets yesterday but couldn't get through, so am going to phone on the way out today in the car. I really want my tickets before they go on sale to the public as the things I want to see will sell out!!

    Morning all!

    I'm avoiding the housework so thought I would post some more nonsense!

    Ebay

    Last round of Ebay ends today.

    5 items for sale, 4 of which will sell for a total of £10.89 :D Auctions end in about two hours, so I will have to be up and dressed by then so I can wander up to the Post Office.

    Money

    I currently have:

    £50 in "spends" and £4 in my purse
    £12 in my PAD account, which will have the Ebay money added to it
    £0 in my "entertainment" account as I bought Fringe tickets this morning :j
    £17.94 in my groceries account following Adventures in Asda yesterday

    8 days till payday. I will get to payday without the overdraft, but might go over my groceries budget for the first time since starting the Grocery Challenge.

    Other gubbins

    Carboot should be next weekend. I am going to start organising things this morning, but it's tricky storing things when you have two cats who use all boxes and piles of clothing as their bed no matter what you do.

    I am taking a break from Ebay after this last lot of stuff sells. I will be relisting soon, but I have made a nice chunk o'change from this and don't want to get tired of it.

    I have bought all the tickets I really want for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and have now withdrawn the money from my instant-access account to pay for them. This will be looking quite small this month, but at least I know my fun isn't on credit but just down to my own blooming hard work *pride* :D

    Dinner is in the slow cooker at the moment - we're having slow cooked lamb in a red wine gravy (If it thickens). If the red wine gravy doesn't thicken we're having "Lamb that tastes like wine" :rotfl:

    I have spent the morning playing computer games (Woo!), sorting out money ideas, planning the Festival Funtimes and doing dishes. I'm now off to see how much I can do of the list below before collapsing. This is what I want to accomplish today:

    * Clean and shiny kitchen
    * Tidy/dust living room
    * Clean bathroom
    * Go to Post Office
    * Sort out clothes for carboot into bin bags where cats can't sleep on them
    * Sort out Washing Mountain as I will then have drawer space into which I can put the clothes

    Shall be back on later to let you know if I have done any of the above :rotfl:

    Morning FF - that's a busy Sunday you have planned there! :D I'm envious of you doing the Fringe - I used to go for a fortnight (in my past - single - life, LOL!) and abslutely loved it, although I'm afraid that does make me one of the dreaded tourists! ;) Always went for the final two weeks - in part because I felt that things like the preview weekend etc should be for the local folk. Back then ticket prices were averaging around £5 - 7 for the majority of stuff and £10 -£12 for the top line comedians etc. I've seen all sorts there - Paul Merton lots, Radio 4 stuff always used to be a good bet if you could get tickets I got mine through Tony Slattery one year I seem to recall, when he was doing "Just a Minute" in the tent on Calton hill. Comedy Store players, Julian Clary, I remember the League of Gentleman doing free "unannounced" tasters from their show in the courtyard at the Pleasance just because they were still unknown then and weren't selling tickets! My OH and I actually got engaged in Edinburgh during the festival too - happy memories there.

    You're doing so well on your eBay thing - maybe it might be something you can do again to buy something you want for yourself (like the Fringe tickets) without having to take away from your "real" money to do it? Just a thought.

    I will definitely do more Ebaying again, but with the impending car boot sale next week I don't want to have too many things on the go! I have paid for the Fringe through PAD, but will replace much of the money I have spent with the Ebay items I have sold in the last fortnight, which keeps me on track for my DFD and funtimes-neutral :D

    I have some things to relist, which I will do in a couple of weeks, and other stuff to sell too, I think I have just tired myself out with Ebay recently!

    Kitchen is done, woo! I have sold four of my five Ebay items today for a total of £13.74 + postage etc. I have now also packaged up all Ebay items ready to have the addresses written on so I can run to the Post Office later on. Nothing else is done though :D

    Hi F_F,

    Good luck with the carboot sale next weekend - I just did one today and sold a grand total of (actually not sure how many items), but £24's worth which is not bad until you take off the entrance fee of £10! Yes, I made a profit of only £14, was there for 5 hours as well. I worked out if I sold everything I could've made over £200, but alas I am home with most things - gonna try ebay now but never sold on it before! Failing that, it's the charity shop!

    Have a nice night x

    Hi FF - How are things going? I've not been able to catch up as I've been away for just over a week, but I notice that the bookcase isn't on the list - have you done it or are you just avoiding it? :)
