Holy carp! Didn't know you worked for them, really sorry, you must be worried sick. If the worst comes to the worst will you get a pay-off? (I hope it doesn't come to that though but it's good to be prepared)Start Date: 27/11/2010

just realised my post was really quite rude....wasn't meant to be....am now highly embarrassed & hanging head in shame:o
Hope you won't be affected FF, now more understanding of your references to slush fund/redundancy back up - I only wish I'd had your sense to think ahead when they first mentioned the R-word at our placeI do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Hi folks!
5*shopaholic - it is scary times indeed for us in The Bank. We think that some people in our building got notice of redundancy but we're not sure as they are a different department. You could power my flat for a year with the energy the rumour mill is throwing around :rotfl:
My current attitude is, essentially, "sod it". If I'm getting the chop, I'm getting the chop and I will deal with it when I can. I am going to keep plugging away at the debts, so that if the worst happens I have some emergency funds put aside. I get paid in 13 days and currently have the following money available:
£90 in "spends" account (Used for general cr*p I don't really need!)
£10 in the account I send my PADs from (More will be sent there from "spends" soon)
£38.60 in my "Entertainment" account. This has a monthly budget of £50 and always serves to show me that I really need to get out moreIf it's at the same level at the end of the month I will send it to my credit card as I will be buying Edinburgh Fringe Festival tickets on Friday
£65.49 in my "groceries" account
The full £90 won't get used, most of it will be sent via PAD to my savings account
I would think - at least £50 anyway. I also have some money in my purse, some of which will be used for Ebay postage as I have nine items ending tomorrow. I'm on track to make £19 in total with all my items, but some of the ones ending tomorrow have many watchers, so I'm hopful for better results!
I think the uncertainty at work is going to make me a little more careful with my funds, but I will be buying some Festival tickets on Friday so I have something nice to look forward to. My current savings stand at:
£460 in my "I can't touch it" (Cue MC Hammer music) account which will send my interest rate plummeting if I take money out
£195.36 in my instant access account, which isn't too shabby, especially as I emptied it mid-May to clear Mr Fresian's loan.
I think that I will have less in savings soon, as I am going to buy those tickets and clear the other miscellaneous spending on my credit card (Skunk Anansie tickets + dentistry)
My first lot of Ebay money will be through in the next couple of days and I will PAD that straight away. I am going to withdraw it as soon as I get it once it hits the level for free withdrawals as that way it's out of Paypal and into my grubby PADding paws
Car boot sale plan is still on, more on that soon once the Great Ebay Adventure is done with.
No other news to report, but again a massive post. Well done if you're still awake!

At the moment, if you don't have a sense of humour in my place you're doomed, so why worry? If the worst happens and I get voluntary redundancy then I should be due about £8000 I think. If it's compulsory then a heck of a lot less. If the option is presented to me then I will have to do a lot of sums and a lot of thinking!0 -
