Ebay items now over £13 :D

Dentistry now finished. The filling was fine, but as they always seem to have to inject you with the numbing stuff in the jawbone (Or so it feels) my jaw is now really sore. Dinner of cheese on toast as I couldn't face cooking so Mr Fresian made me comfort food :happyhear

Tomorrow the jaw ache will have faded and I will hopefully be less cranky than I am now. I've done nothing since I got home but laugh at myself (when my mouth was numb and I was dribbling) and play computer games. Lalalaaaa!!!

In my opinion the injections are the most painful bloody bit!! That needle feels like it's going to come out the other side!

The numb mouth is always amusing - I had to get the bus to work after I had a filling a bit ago and I was convinced my mouth hanging open with drool coming out as I couldn't feel it!

Hope your mouth/jaw feels better soon - you have my sympathy f_f!

Aaarrrrggghhh, me not like the dentist either. Good old Mr f_f making you comfort food f_f. How long can you spin it out for do you think?!:rotfl:

Thank you all you lovely guys for your good wishes re York. We have been before about 10 years ago when the kids were younger but just me and OH this year, but I loved it when we went before and have always wanted to go back, it was such a lovely place. I fancy the idea of the river trip so will look into that and I have bought my new crocs already (with a MSE discount code of course) in preparation for the cobbled streets!

Hope your mouth starting to feel more normal now f_f

    Night all.

    Morning all!

My mouth is now fine but my jaw is incredibly sore, probably from the injection. Hopefully that will help the diet :rotfl:

I have received £6ish from Amazon sales which I have sent to my credit card, but not included in PAD. My PAD money is for paying off my loan/building up my emergency fund. I am slowly paying off concert tickets and dentistry from my credit card, but it will be cleared by the end of the month. I'm becoming one of those "pay it off in full every month" people, just in really small payments :rotfl:

Ebay sales in total are at £13.96 at the moment, but nine items end tomorrow, four of which have 9 watchers or more (!) so I'm hoping for good profit. Mr Fresian will be off to the Post Office for me again on Friday so I'm going to feed him well tonight in preparation for the long trek up the hill carrying bags of parcels :D

Really must go to work now *shudder*

Oh well, at least it's Hump Day :j
  • Happy Hump day. I daren't wish you Happy Humping!!! LOL.

There is a fly in here buzzing round my head and its making my ear ache. I may have to swat the blighter if it doesnt shoot off soon.

Good to hear all is heading in the right direction F_F. Me? I am heading to the fridge. The place of comfort. My job hunting is not going well. Thought I was going to get a call back about a second interview but not heard a thing. Should I email and say "Thanks for your time blah blah - give me the job or else? I'll even clean the office loos in my lunch hour?" or is that not the done thing anymore?

Wish I could answer that one......I don't know what the done thing is anymore, other than to ignore applications that people (ie me) have sweated buckets over (one was handwritten!!!!!!!! it hurt, typing is easier).......sorry getting bitter here, that wasn't the plan

Email them with love n kisses maybe? anything to avoid extra loo cleaning duty....

Seriously though, contacting them does show you're keen & interested......

    Good enough is exactly that.

    True.

I keep having images of them holding secret second interviews...... Yep, sometimes I really think I am a whack job! LOL.

Will try and word a polite, non desperado, non pleading, ball grabbing thanks for your time email and see where that gets me. Probably, all it will get me is another week of signing on!! LOL. You gotta laugh, you really gotta.

F_F - sorry to hijack your diary!

    Any time petal :D

Sorry that you and the lovely Lurker are having so many problems with inconsiderate employers at the moment.

I will think happy thoughts for you both.

  • There's just so many people out there applying for the same jobs.

We had advertised for a position at work - just the one - and we got (can't remember exact figures) - 117 applicants. 60 of those were paper sifted (met ALL of the desirables) and 4 get interviews because they stated they had a disability so they have to get interviewed!. Personnel then passed them onto my boss and he whittled the 60 down to 8 (plus the 4 disabled candidates).

I was reading through some of them, and it was heart breaking. You could tell how desperate they were, as they were applying for jobs totally different to the field they had been in, some of them had been on £10k plus more than we're offering and some of them were willing to travel miles!

It's really hit home to me just how scarce jobs are out there. I don't want to make you feel even more depressed than you are so I've really thought more than twice about posting it, just don't want you thinking you must have been a rubbish candidate.

Many people in my company are being made redundant at the moment (Large bank - in the news a lot yesterday for it, guess who!) and it's scary times indeed.

    *extra hugs*
