Oh and part of the reason I tend to take the CS helpline with a pinch of salt... We are told to only eat foods with 10g per 100g carbs (or less). A quick look at the nutrition box on a CS snack bar shows these are "forbidden" foods, and yet we are encouraged to eat them..?
Yeah noticed that on the CS forum, moderators ignore any queries regarding Atkins Bars and why CS bars have so many carbs in them-the mods are good at ignoring your questions on that site eh Mrs Bstill see you never ever got an answer to your question about the granules!
I tend not to use their site very often as it isn't really that helpful, I will just carry on what i am doing-I am obviously doing something right!
How is everyone getting on? How is the weight loss going?"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
When are you coming back to join us trudij? Is the food mountain decreasing yet?
Not as fast as Id like it to - though Ive given a fair bit of it away,( NOT mse !!!) I just cant afford to do CS at the moment. Will have to ask for it for Christmas or something I guess - though the shoes are coming off the horse and not going back on till spring, and Ive moved her somewehre cheaper, so hopefully there will be a little more money....
Failing that, Im just going to have to start hoping for lots of sick ponies on my nights on call, but I dont like doing that cos thats mean on the ponies (though good for my bank balance!!)Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -

Yes, I know the mods on the CS forum are very evasive - I like to go in sometimes and stir things up;).
Weight loss wise, I am still losing. Last week was a bit annoying - only 0.2 lbs lost, but this week I have lost 2lbs, so swings and roundabouts. I was pretty strict last week, but have been eating more carbs this week- 110g ish, and I think that's what works better for me. I can pinch a crisp from my kids and not feel the need to eat a pack- that to me is a big step - so what that crisps are not allowed on their plan.
I found this article quite interesting. It shows the thinking behind the development of CS, why we are given prescribed "allowable" foods and "avoid" foods. I find understanding this has helped me see why they are quite strict, but I also see that I am not on the CS plan for life. It's up to me to be responsible for what I stick in my mouth, and to be told that I can't eat an Atkins bar (for instance) because it's not "allowed" is just mad - it fits their criteria (which they seem to chop and change at will)! I'm not a prisoner in this diet.
There's this one too, which tells how the diet program was developed - with, and specifically for, Cat White from the Biggest Loser. If you ar einterested I find a lot more about CS when including .au in the google search.(aussie sites)
Sorry for this essay, and that it was a bit of a rant. I'm a bit grumpy, I was outvoted, the boys all had pizza tonight and not a curry like I'd requested (was going to have some chicken tikka, bit of curry sauce and salad, maybe a small bit of naan) so I was stuck with home made food (nice but not takeaway if you know what I mean).
Glad to see everyone is still losing and good luck to the newbies!
It's only a game

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for all the information on the Atkins bars. It would have been a shame to stop eating them as they really are yummy! I guess they are more likely to promote their own brand especially when the competition is cheaper and tastes better!
I posted a question on the CS forum about whether I could keep taking my vitamins and got no reply whatsoever!Maybe they only answer certain questions and the unanswered ones just drop to the bottom.
My treadmill is due to arrive this week and I am so super excited! I have been watching Biggest Loser and they are always on theirs and they lose loads of weight.
I think I need a bit of a boost as this weekend has seemed really hard for some reason. This is my fourth week and I seem to lack motivation this weekend and I am just wanting to eat and not to exercise! Eeeek! I NEED to get over this as I have so much further to go! Any help appreciated!
Oh .... Has anyone tried the Choc-Mint and Choc-Orange flavour shakes? I am trying to decide if I want to buy a box as they aren't in the mixed pack!
I hope you are all doing really well!

Hi everyone!
f10na it took me 5 weeks to lose 22ibs (I put on 1Ib last week but i am pretty confident that I have at least lost that this week and hope I have lost more )............BUT as I have said before I have a lot of weight to lose and I expect i will lose it quicker intially (at least I hope I will lol!) and then it will slow down to 1 or 2Ibs per week. You are doing brilliantly, averaging about 3ibs a week is great I bet if you have ever been on another diet you will not have lost as much so soon (at least I know I never have!)
Thanks for the info Mrs B I will have a good look at that-you just keep stirring things up across at CS!! I think its great that you can have a crisp or 2 and that's enough for you, I am too chicken to do that yet but I am confident that day will come! I have been a bit like you over the weekend my family were over at my mums this weekend (she was getting a new kitchen fitted and everyone was helping) and they sat down to chippie suppers 2 nights on the trot while I had cold chicken and salad but in all honesty it didn't bother me (that much
!)
Angel Jenny I know how you are feeling I went through this a few weeks ago and it is really hard going to try and stick to it but I promise you it will pass-when it happened to me I thought I would have to give in but I didn't and the next day was better and the day after that I felt I was back to normal again and not having any cravings, you will feel so proud of yourself if you don't give in but hey if you do it is not big deal at the end of the day, just enjoy what you have and get back onto it the next day. That's where I went wrong last week I came off it for nearly 2 days with lots of drink too I am not going to stop having nights out (they hardly ever happen anyway) but will have to be stricter about getting back to it. Keep it up you have done so well already!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Oh forgot to say I have tried the choc mint shake and at the time I didn't like it (I think it was my first day) but would love to try it again-I think my rowlands pharmacy must have had them in singular packs at the time but they don't do them anymore. I'm the same as you I want to try them but don't want to buy a whole box (I did this with the cookies and cream and it was really delicious but I got so fed up of them!)"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0
