Yeah thanks for that didn't realise that was how you done it . If losing weight was as easy as you claim it is 50% of the adult British population would not be overweight we are doing this because we WANT to lose weight, your input is not helpful I'm afraid!
Well done blah11 I found day 1 really hard so that is good news."That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Well, weigh in yesterday, I lost 1.6lbs. I'm happy with that as I usually lose around 1lb this week of the month, and about 3lbs next week, so woopee! I am 0.1lb off a stone milestone I've not been under for ... well at least since DS2 was born 13 years ago
.
Well done to all of you who are just starting the diet, and good luck Blah11 and Pinkparrott it really works and is quite easy to keep to too. It's my birthday in 5 weeks and I hope to lose about another stone by then so must up the exercise!

I’ve lost five stone in the last twelve months. The lasses at the gym say I have the body of a Greek God now (hmmmm). My neighbour who is somewhat Toby Jug shape and not wine glass asked me how I did it. ‘Dead easy’, I told her, ‘Just jump on the bike’. ‘Ah but people laugh at me’, she said. So I asked her if people make fun of her because of her weight and she admitted, yes, the ridicule she got was soul destroying. ‘Well there’s your answer then’, I told her. Better they laugh at you for losing weight than not losing weight. Weight loss is purely about your attitude to your mind.
I have gone from being a 42 waist to a 34 and now wear a “body hugging” small T shirt instead of XX Large. And my favourite T shirt has the most simplest of messages on it. In fact, I love it: “Just Do It”.0 -
Day 2 is almost over (not had my chicken stirfry and after dinner snack yet which I'm looking forward to). Today has been a little harder than yesterday and I've been a bit hungry so I'm not in ketosis yet.. hopefully tomorrow I will be!
Had my 2 shakes for breakfast and lunch and 2 snacks of an atkins break bar and 2 pieces celery with peanut butter on. Also drank my 2L but finding it hard to go anywhere because I need to use the toilet so much! Does your bladder hold more in time?
Mood wise I'm quite tired but it could be just because it's the end of the week. No headaches really, just a slight twinge in my temples but it's managable.
Finding it okay so far really but can't wait til the cravings for bread, chocolate and chips goes away!0 -
Blah11, CS isn't supposed to put you into ketosis, while it's lowish carb, it's not that low. Each shake/soup has almost 30g of carbs which is too much by Atkins standards!
The hunger does go though, if you are still very hungry you need to up your snacks. Maybe have a small salad with your celery/peanut butter (is this a low carb /sugar free one?), or weigh out 30g of approved nuts (brasils for example) and have one when you are hungry throughout the day. You are also allowed unlimited approved veggies ideally at regular snack times, but until your body is used to this diet you can have them more often. There is a thread on the CS forum about what to do if you are still hungry.
Hold in there though, it works!

Hi Everyone!
Week 4 weigh in and I have lost 3 pounds. That's 14.5 pounds in 4 weeks! Amazing! I am so excited! I LOVE this diet!
As my non food treat I am getting some MAC makeup as I have always wanted some!!
It's so strange as I didn't lose anywhere near this much weight on diets that I found really hard and restrictive! Been doing exercise everyday - at least about 40 minutes and my work trousers are really baggy now!
Hope you are all doing really well on your diets too!!
Angel Jenny :A0 -
Well done Angel Jenny and Mrs B on your weight losses that's brilliant!
Blah11 it will get easier, I never really got cravings for carbs at the start but just told myself that if I did it was a good thing as they say this means that your body is burning fat, so just think to yourself that this is what it is. As far is the water is concerned I find now that in the mornings I don't go to the toilet that often but in the afternoon...........I go nearly every half hour LOL! I really miss the water when I don't drink enough. Good luck and stick with it."That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. Why do we have to watch our carb content on our 'balanced meal' if we get 30g for breakfast and lunch?Doesn't make much sense to me at all. Wish the book would explain things a little better
Well done Angel_Jenny for your loss0 -

Hi there Blah, the book is rubbish, it tells you hardly anything. I found that the CS forum is a good way to find out what the diet is all about. I was pretty pi**ed off when I realised that it was more complicated than the book made out, and by reading the comments on the forum I'm not the only one!
Don't be disheartened though, it's easy enough once you have all the facts.
We are encouraged to have about 90g-100g of carbs a day. If you have say, 2 choc shakes that's 57g, leaving you 33g for snacks and evening meal. An apple (well all those I've looked at anyway) is about 10g, say ham and salad will be a couple of grams too. It's more complicated than they say. It is, however, straighforward once you've got the plan straight in your head and the forum has lots of "cheats"- how to make jelly sweets for instance, and other recipes so I do recommend you join even if you don't intend to post.
Once you get the hang of it you can jiggle things about a bit, for instance the bars have fewer carbs so if I want something a bit more carby (I like a Cheddar biscuit or two with my cheese snack- 1.9g carbs 20 cals each) then I'll have a bar for lunch. I do still stick to the low carb thing though and I've been on the plan for 12 weeks so stick to what you know for now if it seems a bit overwhelming, Minimins has a CS forum too, there's not much posting going on now, but the older threads are there and you can get advice and ideas from there.
I don't mean to come over as pushy, it's just I've got to the stage that I'm looking at ways to incorporate the low carb thing into my life with a view to the future when I stop CS. I intend to do CS until Xmas (hope to lose another stone by then) and then go on to have one shake a day and still keep the rest the same to lose my last half stone or so. (mainly a financial decision, also I don't intend being on CS forever).
