Well I seem to be doing better today - made the choc shake with hot water and it was yummy, had a slice of cheese and ham and a plum for a snack, then for lunch an Atkins Advantage Brownie bar, much more satisfying to eat solids rather than soup, and I'm not so starving for a snack as I was this time yesterday. Hopefully my stomach is shrinking and adapting to this new way of eating. Also stocked up on Atkins bars at Boots at lunchtime - a shake AND a soup is too much liquid for me! My pot belly feels a little more compact today so fingers crossed that it's on its way down permanently.....0

Day 25 update
14 pounds lost so far. I only lost a pound last week but I had a sore throat and had some strepsils which contain carbs but I wasn't very well. I sure that this mucked it up but still a pound off is good! I have bags of energy and my stomach feels much better so anyone new, do stick with it!
I've got into a routine and delighted with the weight loss, down a dress size to 16 from tight 18 in that time. My BMI on the CS account says 30 so I'm thinking I might go back to the NHS to apply for IVF waiting list although at 5ft, 7" and 195lbs I get a different BMI reading on the NHS website - confused! Does anyone else find that?
I'm going to try to take the diet on holiday to Cornwall if I can, about 3 weeks time - lord knows if I can avoid cream tea and pasty but I intend to go running each night, do the shake for breakfast, soup in a thermos for lunch and balance meal at night as we're self catering and treat myself to a tiny drink at the pub.Dieting for IVF, proud of my curves but not the wobbly bits!0 -

Hello, I've been drinking tea and coffee but I gave up a lot of caffine during ivf treatment so I'm not as bad as I was (a 6 + mugs of coffee addict)
I now have a tea after my shake for breakfast to wake me up for the journey to work (!) and then I have about 4 glasses of water or a herbal tea with a sweetner during the morning and then another tea in the afternoon with half a bar for a snack as this feels like a 'tea break' time! I have a decaf coffee in the morning. I can't drink black coffee but I don't mind Lady or Earl Grey black sometimes. To date I've been losing between 4-1lb a week. Hope that helps.Dieting for IVF, proud of my curves but not the wobbly bits!0 -
Rearly pleased iv lost 7lb first week ,:j found it easy but having a burger at the bbq with out the bun was not good, but hay it will be worth it in the end, then was it ok to eat a burger ? with salade of course .
Not sure about the burger as some bought ones contain wheat to bind them together I think. 100% meat would be fine though. It's so hard to eat out isn't it? I braved my first trip out to London on Saturday but managed ok with having half a bar as my allowable snack. I also went out to the pub with my family on Sunday but made sure it was one I have to drive to so that I had diet coke as I never drink any alcohol when I have to drive the car. Usually I'd cycle to my local around the corner and have a beer so the health benefits here are debatable!
What a great weight loss - well done you!Dieting for IVF, proud of my curves but not the wobbly bits!0 -
Day 1 went great!
Breakfast - Chocolate Shake (yum)
Snack - Banana
Lunch - Chicken Soup (Bluuurrgggh made me gip)!
Snack - Half a choc fudge bar and handful of raspberries
Tea - Fillet Steak and plenty of salad, even managed without any dressing!
Snack - Half a berry fudge bar.. much nicer than the chocolate
I'm not as hungry as I thought I would be, keeping busy seems to be the trick, I tried holding off having tea as long as possible by doing lots of cleaning which seemed to do it! Also drinking a glass of water before each meal/snack makes you feel fuller. Getting at least 2l of water down me was easy but i'm getting funny looks in the office for wondering off to the toilet literally every 30mins!
So overall i'm very impressed! I usually weigh myself every morning but i'm going to try my best to wait the whole week before seeing how much i've lost, roll on tuesday night!!
Hope everyone else is doing well and no cheating!

God - someone motivate me again quick??
I came back from my holiday intending to to restart - but its been almost two months now,and im still not back on it properly. Thought it would be easier to do while im working full time again, but i get to lunchtime, and i want to chew things !!! Ive kinda compromised by having shakes in the morning, then low carbing the rest of the day (far as i can) and occasionally giving in and having a sandwich (which appears to fill me up!) when i get in from work...
I did so well before - dropped about a stone without any problems at all (apart from not liking the soups much!) and it was great - im on here extoling the virtues of the diet!! but i just cant get going this time round....
HELP ME !!!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
trudij,
is your house all stocked up with stuff for you?
I've been trying (just started this week) brekkie shake, make up shake for lunch in flask at same time, atkins bar about 3pm before I gnaw me own hand off.
then shake/ v light meal, or meal.
but it doesnt work if i have to shopping at any stage in the day!
You were doing so well, and you know it'll come off fast if you get back on the horse!

Day 3
Breakfast: Strawberry Shake
Snack: Banana
Luch: Banana Shake
Snack: 20g Cheese and a half a natural yoghurt because I couldn't stand it!
Tea: Cajun Chicken Salad
Snack: Fell asleep!!
Still feeling good and full of energy, found yesterday afternoon hard, had to go shopping and there was so much nice food around! Sleeping quite a bit more too, falling asleep between 9-10.
When I weighed myself on Monday I was 12st8, I said I wasn't going to weigh myself until the full week was up but I couldn't resist this morning and i'm now down to 12st4!! So feeling extremely pleased.
Trudij, if you know it has worked for you before then surely it can work again! It will be sooo hard trying to get into it again, but the longer you leave it the worse it will be and it will only get harder and harder. Once you have that first couple of days over with you will be fine!
Come on ladies/gents we can do this haha!!

Hi Trudij
I think I know how you feel - I lost really well with the Atkins about ten years ago, I think the novelty of a completely different diet helped, and now I can never do it for more than two days cos I know how repetitive it can get unless you have loads of money to vary the meat and fish that you eat, plus no sweet stuff allowed (sugar-free jelly does NOT float my boat). Although, now I've discovered the Atkins bars I may give it another go - I can cope throughout the day if I know I have some form of chocolate to come as a treat in the evening!
I'm finding myself hungry on CS, but this is my fourth day and it does seem to be easing, basically because I'm eating either more of the allowable snack foods, or because I'm having more protein than just a palm-sized piece. I know from experience that carbs are my enemy so more protein shouldn't really hurt, it's the easiest way to fill up without adding carbs, and I'd rather stave of the hunger pangs that way cos otherwise I'd cave in and eat stuff that I shouldn't!
My stomach on the second day felt more compact (this is my real problem area) but yesterday it bloated, and today I woke up with it being just as bad. I'm drinking at least 2L of water a day; not sleeping till at least 2am, unlike the others that are falling asleep early; no headaches or bad breath.
Tonight is my friend's birthday and I'm going to have my wine allowance with soda then drink water in between - it will be hard watching them all drinking lager in copious amounts but I'm not prepared to undo all my good work at this early stage! I know I should wait till Monday to get weighed but I may call in to Boots at lunchtime - although if I haven;t lost anything I may resort to beer! Just joking.....0 -
Hi everyone
I started cs on wednesday after about 2 weeks of reading through this forum and debating. I havnt told anyone im doin the diet as i know alot of people give shake diets loads of stick n didnt want anyone 2 put me off.
so im on day 3. yesterday i was really bloated n had a really bad stomach ache and 2day i have a splitting headache. is this normal? Ive been drinking at least the 2L and sticking to the diet - even went out 4 dinner on the 1st night and managed 2 sit there while my friends ate all the chips straight off my plate lol
when on diets in the past i cant resist weighing myself everyday but not letting myself this time. i figure seeing the weight loss just once a week mite seem more significant.
Ive got 2.5/3 stone to lose.
good luck everyone. you all seem to be doing great!0
