  • Hiya

I've been on it for 2 weeks and have lost 5lbs. I'm basically happy with that as I don't have a lot to shift so it was always likely to be slow.

Personally, I've changed it now so that I only have shakes once a day as I am training for a marathon in 7 weeks and I run competitively all year, I also teach dance so was finding that there was just not enough energy available for the level of running that I was doing. I have found; however, that lowering carbs substantially has had a really good impact on my stomach and I look noticeably trimmer. In fact in just 5lb I've gone from a small 12 to a comfortable 10 so I do think it is useful.

Suki, yes joanneg, shes lost 13lb in two weeks - I had lost 8lb in three weeks but you will see from my previous post was very naughty this last weekend :rotfl:

    Go Laila, go laila

Well done for resisting temptation castlegirl :T

Thanks for that but Im looking to hear from people who have been on it a month or more and have lost on average more then 2lb a week as from what results Im seeing being posted - its not happening unless people are cutting further and further back on carbs.

Now the carb free diet is atkins and you can do that without the added expense of soups and shakes so Im seriously struggling to see whats so gtreat about the CS now - or am I missing something?

Even an average 2lb a week weight loss is what WW offer - once again without the added expense of shakes and soups
  • Suki, I'm 4 weeks in and have lost a stone (with a stone and a half to go), that's been great motivation to get me started but I fully expect to only lose about 2lbs a week from now on. I'm not sure it's physically possible or healthy to maintain bigger weight losses every week without depriving yourself of nutrients or excercising like a maniac.

The shakes and bars aren't cheap but I've replaced the morning latte and lunchtime sandwich that I'd buy, so that probably evens out the cost for me. They're easy too - no preparation, cooking, ingredients, faffing about (I'm lazy?!). But the biggest advantage I've found is that I'm genuinely not hungry and I'm not feeling deprived or that I'm on a 'diet'. I think I'm learning to eat better (more salad & veg, snacking on cottage cheese, prawns and chicken, lots of water) which is hopefully what will become a way of life and help me keep the weight off.

There's probably a psychologial advantage in 'investing' in the plan as you're going to take it seriously. Plus if you're near a Rowlands pharmacy where you can get advice, weighed & measured (for free) you're geting the motivation of a slimming club like Weight Watchers without the weekly fee.

Good luck if you give it a go.
  • Hi all.

Is CS okay to use if you exercise a fair amount? I have been on WW but due to a lot of work have been on a break since Xmas. Same with the gym...was a 3-4 times a weeker for the past 9 months.

I know I get ravenous on gym days and am due to start back with a vengeance next week but also really want to slim down as still have 1 1/2 stones to goal. Does CS leave you too hungry and lethergic for the gym or is it ok?
    thanks all

    Suki,

If you stick to the diet plan how you're supposed to then the weight will come off. I didnt at all this weekend and knowing I was having a weekend off I also sneaked one or two extras in the week.

I can kind of see where you're coming from with the expense, it does seem alot but if you break it down it isnt really, the shakes work out at £1.85 each, two a day £3.70. I would spend more than that usually on breakfast and lunch.

For me, this is the most convenient way of losing weight, I dont always have time for breakfast so I would grab something once I got to work, no hassle of preparing lunch before work, messing with salads or sandwiches. I just pick two shakes up and away I go. I know to have a small piece of fruit inbetween breakfast and lunch and then lunch and tea then once I get home I know its 100g of protein and 300g of veg or 1/4 protein and 3/4 veg.

No thinking about what you can have, how many points in that, am I on a red day or a green day, no counting syns or calories.

SkintandWorried has had great results :T I would have had better had I stuck to it but I havent. However, even though I put three on at the weekend, ive already lost two but I dont officially get weighed until Monday.

Theres only you can decide if you want to try it, hope the above is of help but good luck whether you give it a whirl or not.
    Started CS - 12 Jan 09 weighing 167 lbs
    Week 1 = -5lbs
    Week 2 = -1lb
    Week 3 = -2lbs
    Week 4 = +3lbs
    Week 5 = -5lbs
  • I read all the posts form the last 5 weeks and I finally have the courage to go to the pharmacy tomorrow and buy cs. Not starting till next Tuesday due to hols, you have all given great feedback and advice which has spurred me try this diet. Good luck with your weigh ins

Thankyou skintandworried, I was beginning to think that there was no one out there that was sticking to the diet and losing weight.

A stone in a month sounds good to me, the sort of result I would hope for if buying into a diet like this.

Im still toying with the idea. I meed to shift the stone that I gained through quitting smoking but I just cant get motivated. Ive always kept my weight down since losing a lot on WW ten years back but I think this time, battling the smoking as well as the drinking has left me with no reserves for fighting the flab. So a kick start is really what I want - then hopefully get back to my usual healthy eating

I shall go take a look around town - see if I can find a stockest
  • Hiii everyone, me again :rotfl:

Well, my diet arrived last night at about 7pm:o which meant I didn't really want to start until today.

The thing is, as I said, I have been *sort of* on low carbs since I ordered the diet on Sunday at 5am which meant resisting that big load of lovely roasties etc. I have been drinking my 2 litres of water a day since then as well. I took a picture of my face with my webcam on Sunday night as well.

So today I really started the diet. I was SO nervous about the shake because I knew i would have been GUTTED if it was vile ( i tried a SlimFast one time and it gave me the dry boak). I picked Vanilla from my starter pack at 7am, washed out my shaker (Red YEY) and gave it a go. WOW guys, it was LOVELY! I can't believe it I am so pleased. It was everything I like in the morning, sweet, light and very filling. I had to fight off my two little sons from drinking it LOL. I missed mid-morning snack because I was so busy and NOT hungry I didn't even notice. I had lunch of Tomato Soup (quite nice!) at 2pm in my nice new thermal mug which I love. I had an apple at about 5pm then made an omlette with corgette, mushroom, lean ham, a little cheese. The only thing is, I didn't notice peas are not allowed and I had a small amount of peas along with carrots and broccoli beside it.Had a blood orange for snack later .

I haven't been craving sweets or carbs. I made the boys their dinner and wheras I'd get wired right into their leftover waffles- I just binned them. I just took a picture of myself with my webcam and I have to say I had noticed a difference in my face but it is REALLY noticable on the pics. I look about 4 years younger, less bloated and scary looking. It's great. I think drinking the water has a lot to do with that.

On the subject of cost, i was really grudging paying this but when Im at uni I can spend £5-£7 on lunch/coffee etc. and even sometimes breakfast I'll get a roll and sausage or something so this is actually easier and saving me money.

I was with WW for nearly a whole year and good luck to those on it but I found it really boring, I hated the people at my meetings (irritating) and I thought it was a bit confusing and annoying all the counting, calculator blah blah blah. SO that is saving me £18 a month. Only thing is i dont have a Rowlands near me so :-( but I think that I will leave weighing for a while and just go with how good i feel with my face getting thinner (my NOSE was so bad not now though) and my waist etc.

I'm looking forward to another day! Well done to eveyone who is losing at the moment, and this forum is great reading and inspirtational so keep posting :)

    Good luck folks

Well done you !! I love this diet (not that anyone would EVER guess!) its amazing. Ive only lost a coupld of pounds this week, but thats cool - it till gives me a total loss of 12lbs, which is brilliant considering ive hardly done any exercise !!!

Im aiming to keep it up till I go on holiday at the end of March - an am hoping to drop a couple of dress sizes by then - that will make me a 16/18. My jeans are loads looser, Ive got a waist back, I feel brilliant in myself, and Im so happy its just not true. this diet is way more than just losing weight...

One thing though - I have been really constipated - so make sure everyone that you drink loads of water !!
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
