HI there - thanks for the replies to my earlier question about the soups. I am planning to start this tomorrow and am going to go off to Tesco in a bit to get all the snack bits etc so I dont get tempted to eat the wrong things. I was wandering if anyone could give me any advice as to tomatoes? Are they ok? I love cherry and plum toms and thought these could make up some of my snacks. Also tinned or grilled toms as part of my main meal? Also, does anyone have any tips other than carrotts as to what to dip into hummums (not keen on capsicum or celery).
Thanks for all your help

umm - dip wise - raw brocolli/cauliflower? i think you should be safe wiht most things - just not high carb things like potatoes and bread.... far as I can remember (cant find my book now I want it!!) tomatoes are ok - though iirc from atkins, they have quite a lot of sugar in,so go a bit easy...
Pompeyblade - hi,good luck, crickey well done, and I think you are fairly safe with lots of veg - its supposed to be 1/4 protein and 3/4 veg anyway... and I cant believe it matters massively if you have more than 2l water.... you sound like you are doing brilliantly - well doine!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
After reading about this for a few days I've decided i'm gonna give it a go! Won't be able to go the chemist til tomorrow or Tuesday so gonna aim to start on Wednesday but I figure if this statement of intent exists somewhere on the interweb now, then I have to do it!
Think I might struggle though, I could live on a diet of carbs! Potatoes, pasta, bread and bananas are pretty much my favourite foods! Think I'm gonna have to broaden my horizons veg-wise!
Currently around 13st (i'll get a more accurate weight before I start) and a size 16. Want to get into size12 jeans (which it what size I was when I was most happy/confident about myself) more than a particular weight but I might need to give myself a real number to work towards which I'll have a think about. Got a feeling the weight will come off a hell of a lot slower than it came on though!
I'm already nervous! :rotfl:0 -
TBH I was very excited about this CS when this thread first appeared - such dramatic weight losses reported in those first few days, but reading through it seems that after that first week you are all reporting more normal weight losses of a pound or two?
And also reading through the thread it sounds like those posting are having to deprive themselves of more and more to keep the weight loss going?
Is it really such a great diet?
Anyone been on it for more then a month whos willing to give total weight loss?
Im seriously curious as giving up the smoking Ive gained a stone and am really finding it hard to get motivated in getting it shifted. Doesnt help that I do weird shifts cooking in a resturant0 -
Hi there I started CS on Friday so thought I would join this thread. I'm 13st 4lbs. I nearly died when I weighed myself as this the heaviest I've ever been. I'm doing this diet with a friend at work so we can support each other. Thought I would join this thread for some more support as the CS website is under construction so the forum not working!
I think the shakes are really tasty. Only had one soup so far and am not so keen but I'm finding the diet quite easy so far. If you eat the three allowed snacks a day then you are not hungry. If you just had the shakes and evening meal then you would be hungry. I love drinking water so this is not a problem.
Probably not a good idea to have just three shakes a day as this only amounts to about 640 calories which is not enough to live off!!
What I always find hard with diets is not drinking alcohol. You can have 2 -3 glasses of wine a week on this diet but I'm not going to bother with the alcohol. Thought I would try it for 6 weeks and see what the results are.0 -
Hey all!
I have been reading this thread religiously over the past couple of weeks, and decided it was about time I posted!
I started CS on Monday, and its not been too bad...my "official" weigh in is tomorrow, but "unofficially" I've lost 8lbs already! I'm also on my lady week! (which can apparently hold 4lbs in water!!)
I have a lot to lose. Im currently at 18st 6lb, with the hopes of getting just under the 13 stone mark, so a long journey ahead!
I have really enjoyed the shakes to my surprise! My friend did Cambridge Diet last year and the shakes were horrible! So I'm rather happy on CS at the mo. I'm also enjoying the fact I can have snacks and a meal in the evening. Ive gone through 2 bags of carrots this week!!
It's great to see so many people are on it and sticking to it0 -
Morning Ladies!
New week, and I have some extra motivation! Had my "official" weigh in this morning, and I've lost a massive 11lbs! Which has really spurred me on to keep it up!
Hope everyone else has a great loss this week!0 -
HI all. I would like to join you all if thats ok!
I am starting CS today and have just had my first bar for breakfast (chocolate, took a while to eat through it!). I currently weigh 13.12lbs and would really like to get down to 10 stone or a size 12 (whichever is the sooner).
Good luck to everyone and I look forward to seeing how we are all getting on.

Not sure if I quoted you properly, but alileonard I too was living on a diet of carbs and have found celebrity slim very easy. I actually think not having any potatoes/bread/pasta is easier than trying to just have a little (like you lose the taste for it or something?).
I'm almost a month in and have lost a stone (still a stone and a half to go). I've been out for dinner & lunch a few times and tried to avoid the carbs and not have too much wine, and it was easy. No need to even let on that I'm 'on a diet' so I think it'll be a managable maintenance programme too!
Hope everyone else is getting on ok? Keep posting weight losses and tips for snacks / eating out, etc. It's very motivational!

Hi all
Hope you don't mind me joining in with you all. I've just started today had a shake this morning an apple mid morning and a shake for lunch. I'm trying to drink lots of water but at the moment I'm still feeling pretty hungry.
I've got about a stone and a half to lose so looking forward to a slimmer me! I'd like to say well done to everyone who's lost the weight so far and keep up the posts on here because I know that I'll be coming on here daily for a bit of encouragement!!
