 not sure how I'm going to do it but I have to find some focus from somewhere!

Gonna do myself a daily list and update on here, maybe that will motivate me, a sort of 'personal get it done challenge'! Here goes with Monday's list
    • get to work by 8.30
    • no snacking
    • drink 1 litre of water
    • healthy meals
    • exercise
Going to look into registering for 'race for life', maybe a target like that will get me going

  • Just found your diary.....try not to get so down on yourself!! It sounds like you've got a lot going on!!

I think you're doing it right...breaking it down into small, achievable goals. But maybe you should just focus on one goal eg getting to work at a particular time - at least then, when you achieve this, you won't just be focussing on the goals you haven't done!! Then, once that gets easier..add in another goal etc... I just think that having 5 or goals per day may be setting yourself up for failure - start off with one or maybe two, the sense of achievement you get may then give you that motivation you need!!!

    Best of luck...and keep posting;)

  • Hi there,

Just read your diary from beginning to end - just want to wish you lots of luck!

I'm just like you in many ways, have all the good intentions - start off ok and then kick myself and get really down by not meeting what I goals/aims I have set myself. It's a nightmare isn't it!

I think like you've said set yourself small goals and then go from there, I plan on mini lists like you for my diary. Why don't you just focus on two things for the entire week like getting to work earlier and drinking 1 litre of water each day this week and then next week add something else?? They say that it takes something like 21 days of doing something for it to become a habit...I usually last a few days at most.

I'm sick of fad diets, plans and failing etc - so am going to use my diary as a keeping on track thing like you.

Anyway, sorry for waffling there....have subscribed to your thread so will be popping back to see how you are getting on....best of luck :D

I'll be popping back to see how you are getting on. Have just updated my own diary with the longest post ever but writing it down has motivated me even more so.

    Morning Shoe gal,
Just had a quick nosey over your diary, and hope you dont mind me popping 'in'.
Im a Slimming world consultant, but dont worry i'm not going to preach about weight loss or convert you to joining a SW group! i still have a stone or so to lose before im at my target!!
Just wanted to say that although you feel you only lost 1lb this week, over a year that would be 3 and a half stone!!
if you do have a bad day for munchies, it's not the end of the world just keep going, you can do it.
    Stay healthy.
    Best wishes Tisme x
  • Good morning!

Good luck on day 1 - you'll be fine and like Tisme said 1lb a week is good and I think the slower it comes off the more likely it is to stay off!

    Have a good day :D x
