Been ages since I've logged on and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't done anything towards paying more money off the mortgage apart from deciding my spreadsheet should now include how much interest gets added every day, which currently stands at £2.77/day
Have worked out (just) that my overpayment for May can be £231 as with being on holiday I hardly spent any money on food
Must be focussed when I get in tonight and ring up and make payment, then I can add the amount into my "daily interest spreadsheet" and see the difference it makes
On the veg front, we have shoots, of what not sure yet as there is some doubt now as what got planted in each tub, think we should have labelled the tubs. Might lead so some excitement when harvesting, bit like a vegetable lottery, think you won a carrot, no its a spring onion :rotfl:
Only money worry is that we might have to go on 4 days week, still only a rumour at the moment, but it would mean a drop in pay. Luckily it would just be the amount I save each month that will be reduced, where as other people at work are panicking that they need the moneyMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

I like the idea of lucky dip with the home grown veggies! We had a 75% home grown salad with our bbq at the weekend. If only our cucumber or tomatoes were a little further along it'd have been 100%!!!
Fingers crossed for good news on the job front.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Made me chuckle so much!
I once got given some courgette plants from a friend. Not a huge fan but thought hey ho freebies, the blooming thing grew courgettes by the dozen. I was pratically green by the end of the summer. Everytime people came for dinner they were like courgettes again :eek:Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

Rang through extra mortgage payment so according to my spreadsheet (if I've got the maths correct) my interest has reduced by 2p/day
Rumours at work now confirmed that between now and end of August we will have 8 4 days week starting this Monday and we'll get 85% for those weeks
So I now predict it will rain every Monday that I'm not a work, which is good for the little vegatables in the garden.
Our butternut squash has 2 leaves (as this is on the window sill we know what this one is)Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Sorry to hear about the reduced working week; is it affecting pension or do you have a private pension?
I like your positive attitude to making the most of the extra time though :rotfl:0 -
I have a company pension (one of the few that do now ) and work have confirmed that they will make up the difference to everyone pensions, so that is good news
My dad thinks that there will also be some statuary pay from the goverment which should mean that I only lose about 8% pay for the weeks that we only work 4 days
So with my first lay off day tomorrow I'm going to stay an extra night with the boyfriend, have a drink and then go home mid morning
So jobs for the rest of Monday
Food shopping
Ironing
Paint the back bedroom
Hoover up
Relax
And if I do all that I must have had some help :rotfl:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
