Thanks
I think there only low (ish) as I'm hardly at home, work all day then most weekends at the BF's and I'm quite good at wondering around in the dark
I have been switching off everything I can, no more things on standby and I if I have bought anything new I have looked for appliances with a good rating on them
And I'm buying energy efficient light bulbs when I need to replace any of them
Love hot showers to much, so think gas will always be on the high side

ahhh the good old days, when me and my oh moved in together 9 years ago we used to put £20 in our meter and it would last us forever we used to be really put out when it got low but like you say it makes a difference when you are out at work all the time.

Hall, stairs and landing all decorated, I have put the radiator on the wall, but only tightened the pipes up hand tight as away at BF's this weekend.
Got all the carpet to the tip last weekend and have started to sort out through all the "stuff" that is littering up the dining room (plus the bit I hid in the back bedroom). One bin bag of rubbish in the wheelie bin and one bag went in a charity bag that came through the door. Just need to measure up for the carpet but have saved the money for that
Free council tax money went to the decorator, so not made any extra mortgage OP's apart from the standing order.
I think next month I will be on full wages for about the first time in a year and will start to save for house moving costsMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Just a few odd jobs, that I could probably get done in a weekend if I put my mind to it, but think the next weekend at home will be in April so I'll have to do them after work
Quite tempted to use a days holiday as just feel like a day off would do me the the world of good, but deep down I think I would waste it. But if I could get my mum and dad at mine, they would make me do stuff whilst they sort out the garden - I watered a weed all last year thinking it was a plant
I'm not sure how much more money to spend on the house, the fence is all odd panels so wondering if to replace them and paint them all the same colour, have money saved and think I even have enough money for EA fees/solicitors when needed
Feel a bit happier as BF is doing stuff this weekend at his house with a little bit of help from me, I even did his ironing yesterday so he could start sorting stuff out in the back bedroom. Wasn't seeing much progress in his house but he works really long hours in the week (dark circles under eyes long hours usually 40+ hours OT/month and he doesn't claim it all) and likes to relax at the weekend
Feel like a 50's couple he's DIYing and I'm housekeeping (apart from the bit where I'm on here)
Just been asked to clean the paint brushesso he can crack on
ETA - paint brushes = 2 paint brushes, 1 roller and the paint tray (meanwhile he's lying on the floor, he is glossing skirting boards but I can't moan about that lol)Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Good idea about the parents, I think its from the years of nagging to do homework and tidy your bedroom, but for some reason they are really good at motivating (or nagging I can't tell the difference)
It really is a nightmare to start doing diy after a long week at work its like a second job, my oh is taking ages to do the living room but life just gets in the way, this weekend he had to do overtime saturday and we had a christening to go to on sunday so nothing was done which is frustrating but you have to do things other than just work, work and more work!
On the fence front maybe a lick of paint will be enough, a few odd panels won't put people off buying a house I wouldn't have thought (well it wouldn't put me off);)

Whilst sorting out BF's house of doom, found two huge bags of copper
BF said I could have the bags since I was so keen to count it all up. He said it was only about £2
Counted it up Sunday night - £13 - is it wrong to tell him how much there actullay was and that he's not getting it backMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

no and no :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
