Radish I am jealous, we have a huge living dining room which my hubby has been plastering (slowly) since last october, the next job is to have the huge 1970's brick fireplace removed but we daren't do it yet because I don't think I could live without the fire for any length of time, I can't wait to have my living room back.
Its a really exciting time for you at the moment, all leading up to the purchase of a lovely shiny new house

I had a huge 1970's brick fireplace, we demolished it last year, all 3.5 metres of itit felt good, being under the threat of redundancy helped as I imagined it to be certain peoples heads. Found out a few months after, that next doors mirror nearly came off the wall
Just looked on Rightmove the house we slightly fell in love with £212500 without a kitchen (it has been re-possesed and looks like they were in the middle of doing it up, which makes me feel sad for them)
Someone has put in an offer of £229000but you can put in higher bids until the exchange of contracts

Sometimes its just better not to know about the background to a sale it really makes you feel awkward, we went to see a house once where the parents had given up work to look after their toddler who was diagnosed with a brain tumour:eek: - and if they didn't sell it quick it was going to be repossesed (they told us this as we were looking round - no pressure)
Just think you are in a really good position when you are ready to buy, so don't worry too much about that house it was obviously not meant to be

I am such a slacker.................:(
House not going to be ready for the 1st March, living in mess but can't get motivated
Have been feeling slightly under the weather with a cold but could have done a bit each night
Plus point goddaughter's 18th birthday party 80's theme was fun and BF wearing a wig was hysterical :rotfl:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

I too am living in a mess thanks to a little somebody named radish i got jealous and decided to disconnect and demolish my 1970's fireplace, only to be hit by the worst snow we have seen this year we are bloody freezing. I have been doing loads of extra shifts at work so hubby has been looking after the children and not plastering
Good luck on the motivation front I'm sure it won't be too long before you are all finished and ready to move onto the next challenge

I'm sorry sorry sorrybut I understand the mess demolishing a 70's fireplace causes. I'm only glad now that the weather wasn't awful last January. I haven't replaced the fire so now only have a radiator in my living room. The new fire place dilemma was solved by BF buying a 40" TV. You will get there
Bit more motivated tonight have signed up for Flylady this week, so going to try and stick to at least Level 1, had a good blitz in the kitchen tonight and sorted out a lot of paperwork and filed it away (it had been living on the stairs). I think an hour a night will get me back on track :T
Have also booked decorator for the 8th March to do the hall/landing/stairs so have 2 weeks to finish stripping the wallpaper/wash down all the paintwork and get the carpet out
Then might see if I can get my mum and dad to visit for a few days, to sort out the gardens and help get the house ready for the Estate agents :eek:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Have spent a few hours this week catching up with cleaning/decluttering and have managed to complete all my ironing, so you can see the bed in the spare room instead of a mound of clothes
Taken up the carpet/gripper rods/staples on the landing, so tomorrow I WILL take the two bin bags of carpet to the tip, since I go past it on the way to BF
I WILL also plaster the window in the downstairs toilet, so it can be painted and then I can put the blind back up.
Received water rates bill today it going to be £8 cheaper than this year. Electricity bill in credit so DD is going to be reduced from £22/month to £9.50/month. Gas bill not in credit as I demanded the money back in November as I was £80 in credit better in my pocket then theirs :TMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
