MRN - I haven't started the glossing yet as I really HATE painting, good point on the smell front, never thought about it uhm being gassed or being cold
Sounds like the perfect excuse to leave it for another few months :rotfl:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

So living room all decorated and painted, emptied most of the furniture out (only 1 settee left in) and the rest of the carpet was taken to the tip this afternoon. BF has put up the curtain poles and brackets for blinds and the radiator is back on the wall and connected up. Pictures on wall and room given a good vacuum
Carpet coming on Tuesday so once again this week I'm camped out in bedroom which is saving on heating costs
Have bought wallpaper and paint for the hall, stairs and landing (so no OP this month) but need to get downstairs straight again before I can think about sorting out the hall etc
Remembered free council tax months Feb and March so this money is definitely going towards the mortgage, and March is mortgage statement month - how exciting, something to look forward toMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Radish
It does you a lot of mental benefit to have the place freshly painted but don't do the radiator until Spring when heating is off0 -
Now the radiator is back in the newly painted room it does look very yellow :rotfl: so needs a paint job or radiator cover
Not benefited me mentally yet much more the opposite. I can't stand the fact that all of downstairs is just utter chaos which is making me quite stressed
Keep thinking carpet will be fitted Tuesday but as I can't carry the furniture back in on my own that will have to wait until BF next visit so it has to stay in the kitchen/dining room
Not a huge disaster in the grand scheme of the world but it really is bugging me
OK moan overMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Hi Radish, just think how nice it will be to have new carpet to walk onand please don't strain yourself trying to move the furniture! We got new carpet a couple of weeks ago and its made such a difference, and a lot of fluff too :rotfl:(We're still sleeping in the living room and have 6 more weeks to go)

And here's me moaning about being camped out in my bedroom for 2 weeks.
You must be having a lot of work done around the house, and I'm ready to start hovering tomorrow night when I get in from work to banish all the fluff (although cheapish carpet so hopefully not much fluff to spareMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Well radish I thought I would come and have a look at your diary after all your good advice in mine, I thought I could pick up some other gems of knowledge.
I can't believe how well you are doing, you are my inspiration I can't wait to start overpaying my mortgage but as you know I am still wading through a big pile of debt. When I think how much we are putting towards debt repayments, I think how good it would be if we could pay even half this amount off the mortgage.
Good luck, keep your chin up at work think of the money - (as if we DFW think if anything else)
Total Debt: [STRIKE]£24,359.79[/STRIKE] £16,452
debt reduced by 32%

Did you find any :rotfl:, thank you for your kind words, keep popping in from time to time
End of January already so only the standing order of £102 gone towards the mortgage this month, will use the "free" council tax months so Feb/March will be more. Also see if I have any more loose change in my slummy jars that can be bagged up and taken to the bank, might be an odd £1 of copper or if I'm really lucky £5 in silver
Living room back to being a room :j just need to put everything back in the bookcases etc - but determined to sort through it all before it enters the room. This way in theory when I move house I won't be wading through junk, so currently there are little piles of stuff dotted around the house waiting to be re-homed
Plus it has snowed here overnight so it looks very prettyMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
