Help me, I need motivation. I went to the gym today and did 20 minutes' interval training, weights and 50 lunges, but it was all very half hearted.
Foodwise, I'm glad I've got a ton of satsumas as I have eaten about 8 of them today!!! Breakfast was oatcakes and yogurt, lunch was leftover veg pasta from last night and dinner was more veg pasta. I think I'm getting down because I'm not seeing any real changes in myself. I measured myself earlier - no change. I might have to bite the bullet and buy some scales...
Aww. Never mind. It really takes time to see the changes in inches. Try measuring once per fortnight so you are more likely to see a change and not get disheartened.0 -
Thanks Rotherham Lass. I'm just feeling a bit frustrated, I want results!
So... scales. These?

Phew! After a week in the wilderness, my scales are heading south again - I'm hoping to touch 11st 10lb by Monday weigh-in (I'll still be shy of my 7lb, but I'll be happy with that)
Tara, can you edit your post please? The links won't work cos you have 'http' twice in the url, then we can have a look at the scales. Although to be honest, my only criteria when buying scales was 1) were they reasonably priced, and 2) was the display big enough for me to read when I was standing up on the scales........... :rotfl:
I suppose I should also add that they had to be reasonably accurate, but I kinda took that as a given.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
I fixed the links! Please give me your opinions. Ta.

TBH, if you don't mind a traditional scale, the second one looks like better value - no batteries and less to go wrong. Tho if it was me, I'd still go for the first one, because I prefer a digital display which tells me down to the nearest .25lb what I weigh - there is no way I could be that accurate with a traditional set of scales, because the intermediate markings are too small for me to read them accurately.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Daisy, I hope you have a fab time in Turkey - I am envious that you are managing to get away somewhere warmer than here:rolleyes:
I did quite well yesterday - dinner was a tin of Sainsburys organic leek and spud soup (it was virtually tasteless:mad: ) with a slice of wholemeal bread. I felt like a snack later so had a bowl of special k with semi skimmed milk.
Not hungry so no breakfast but have just come back from a shopping trip:
Rolled Beef Rib (to be cooked slow with carrots and onions)
Piece of topside with extra lump of fat (I dont use lard)
Lean minced steak
Weetabix (I had 30p off)
Cabbage
Cabbage mixed with leek
2 bags of oranges
1 bag of apples
3 onions
2 cartons of Sanguinello juice (apparently Tropicana are discontinuing them)
Then naughties - reduced trifle, 2 lemon fru cheesecakes, 2 large bars of cadbury caramel, multibag of crisps. Now the chocolate and crisps will be mainly eaten by OH who is coming up for a visit.
See I am trying to be good:D I think we are in for some bad weather as my right knee hurts like crazy and clicks (it has been damaged through years of abuse).0 -
