Drop half a stone for January Challenge!

I've had an awful month, so far, but am planning on joining the February thread, if there is one. I got My Fitness Coach on Wii (I do like my gadgets) but I haven't been able to source any motivation or willpower anywhere yet. I did, however, measure myself and was appalled at the number of inches I've put on around my waistline. A year ago my tummy was quite flat...now it's like an ad for a certain brand of tyres! Well done everyone for losing weight and sticking to it. I HOPE I'll be able to join you all soonDrop half a stone for January challenge.

Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort. (Thank you Mr Roosevelt)0 -
Tara, the other person is a chef who was around tmptation all day and ound that tasting lead to trying little things on plates, but the hoodia has helped her limit herslf to tasting rather than eating through out the day (she takes in a lot of calories tasting so eats only one light meal a day to maintain weight when working)
My trip, BTW, is to Italy. The choices will be carbs, carbs, carbs, lard or cheese.rofl. I've managed to ensure one of the evenings is at a place with a buffet (much easier) but the other will be, as I suspected, a formal meal at a swish place. I'll try to pick! All th food is bound to be astoundingly wonderful

Just wondering how I can make myself look thin and beautiful by Saturday? My chum is taking a picture of me as it needs to be emailed with an application form for something I am trying to do on the telly.
Hmmm....full size or head shot? If its head shot well applied makeup slightly heavier than you could leave the house in, can work wonders: applied as you normally would for going out might not be most flattering in a photo. Also good lighting (the wonders of aluminium foil) and a good pose/facial expression is important.:o0 -

Horace, don't be hard on yourself - one fattening meal will not undo all your good work!!! I second the makeup tips btw (I actually thought you were a man!! lol).
Welcome to the newbies, I can't wait for the Feb challenge as I will hopefully have a set of scales by then. Still torn between MSE-style cheap dial ones or snazzy digital ones.
lostinrates - Italy eh? Try to go for tomato-y sauces on pasta as much as poss (they are lovely anyway) and, um... pizza marinara as it has no cheese. And lots of fresh fruit, veg etc. But don't worry too much, you will be fine. OMG, imagine being a chef!! I would be eating all the time!!!
So... dinner this evening was a very tasty stir fry made by OH. I had a small portion on my small plate (lots of veg) and hardly any rice, and felt fine afterwards. I've just had an oatcake and might have another, and that will do me for the evening.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I don't wear makeup because I cannot see to apply it - I am blind in one eye so I could possibly do that eye but not the other eye:rolleyes: Anyway makeup makes your skin spotty and I may be 47 but I look about 30:j
I think that my friend will take a head shot - as I think that's what the tv folk need, plus when I do my biography I shall sling my disability in there too as that might just show them that disabled people can do their dream job too.
Oh I was really naughty tonight and polished off the rest of the apple pie because it was just sitting there on the side and I had to open the cupboard to get at the special K and I was too lazy:rolleyes:0 -

Hmm my weight at the moment seems to be up and down like a tart's knickers! I seem to be losing and re-gaining the same flipping 2 pounds and can I get back below 21 stone? Can I blazes (mind you eating 2 pounds worth of carrots as snacks yesterday may have something to do with my 2 pound gain today!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
