    Just a quick question...

You know to qualify you need to have less than £50 of disposable income each month? And if your circumstances change they can ask you to may the debt back? You would need to re-do your financial statement and your outgoings may increase too if you need to start repaying rent/council tax etc

I am currently on benefits because of illness, what if 6 months into the DRO, I get better and can get a job, my income will probably go up a couple of hundred pounds, therefore I will have over the £50 limit, will I have to start repaying the debt? Or is it just if I come into quite a bit of money, say if I won the lottery or something? (I wish!) - You would be under an obligation to let the OR know if your circumstances change and if you did have in excess of £50 surplus then your DRO would be revoked and you would then be liable to pay all of your debts plus potential interest that has accrued. When in a DRO your debts arent written off until the end of the moratorium

I still haven't been able to get through to CCCS to set mine up so I am going to do as others have suggested and do it with Baines and Ernst, I know I qualify for one so if they try any funny business i'll put them in their place ;) I just want it set up now so I can stop worrying about it. Try ringing Community Legal Advice - its a government agency who have debt advisers/DRO intermediaries, its not as widely advertised as the others but offers free legal advice to those who qualify for legal aid (eg on benefits or low income) tel number is 0845 345 4 345 (hope its ok to put this on here)

My wife and I have a combined debt of around £80,000 over many credit cards. we have have been to CAB, payplan etc but been told that they cannot help as we have a negative income of around £400 per month.

is there anything else we can do, is there help for cases like us for things like council tax etc. we both work full time, have one child at home and a mortgage with fixed rate that Nationwide will not us allow to drop to a interest only.

    any help will be fantastic

I'll put this is it's own thread, so it should get a better response. :)

as far as I'm aware as long as you stay under £50 surplus a month you're debts are gone.

I got a letter from TSB today telling me about what is going to happen to accounts from 28th August not I'm on a DRO, refering in OD, mainly talks about planned OD's being removed and Added Value Accounts being changed to a Cash Account.

Flowers, as debrag says, once you have a DRO, from that date the debts are gone, so interest etc can't be added. My debts were £14,600 so I just made it lol.

A few months ago I visited my local CAB and filled in a form (on a computer screen) for my DRO application. Weeks later and I received a letter saying they were ditching my original excel form and that I would have to fill in a paper version, which they enclosed. Thing is I can't remember what figures were entered into my original form. What if I get the figures wrong? My handwriting is terrible and I have loads of debts. What is worst is that I have a meeting either last Friday or tomorrow. I've looked everywhere online for a similar form (word document) that I can simply fill in. I've been told that as long as it looks the part I should have no problem. Can anyone help?

Not been brilliant these past few months (I'm now on ESA), while the debt nazis are still on my case. I just can't get my act together - missing appoinments with various people and organisations that are trying to help.

CAB have had lots of problems with DRO's and this is THEIR (OUR) problem not yours. Dont worry if you cant remember what was said earlier, your CAB wil help you.

It's difficult when you may be suffering form anxiety/ depression, but please see it through, it will help greatly with how you cope with the future.
