I owe my ex employer just over £500 for overpaid SSP, they have finally (after about 6 months) issued an invoice for the correct amount.

Can this be included in a DRO?

    Thanks :)

has anyone seen any changes to their credit reports? My 'scores' have gone down, one saying '0' lol and no new defaults just '6's or '£'s.

    Hi all,

I was hoping someone would give me some advice. I'll get in touch with the CCCS at the end of the week but I'd appreciate someone in the know giving me some advice..

Basially, I've been self-employed for seven years and it's been a disaster. I'm looking to change careers and I've taken steps to do this by retraining. However I've already racked up some debt even though I was forced into bankruptcy in August 2005 by HMRC. I got an early discharge and just went back into my old ways again.... I really hate myself for doing it, sorry.

My debt situation right now is (round figures)

    Housing Benefit Overpayment £1,350
    Water bill £1,100
    Gas at previous property £95
    Phone at previous property £300
CSA ? ( the last assessment said £3k but it will be reduced)
    Budgeting loan £350
Overdraft (with bank I don't bank with any more) £400
    Provident loan (sorry) £750
    Council Tax arrears £100
    Mobile contract bill £200

This lot comes to around £4,600 + the CSA which totals £7.6k worst case scenario.

There may be one or two more but not enough to go over the threshold. I've looked through but I can't see what out of that list wouldn't count towards the DRO.

I've made a million mistakes with money over the years, please help me not to make any more.
  • Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here has gone though the route of debt relief order and how long it takes? Hope you can answer

    Hi,

CSA wont go in but the rest would be ok (pressume there is no fraud attached to the HB o/p)

    Hi,

I have been offered a place to study at University full time starting in September, this is following a hard couple of years where I was medically discharged from the RAF and unable to get permanent work. I have debts to credit cards and banks totalling £9000 which I have been paying back through a DMP via Welcome Solutions. My income will obviously take a huge hit, would I be accepted for a DRO as a student where my income is going to be Student Loans and NHS bursary and to that end would these be classed as income? Any advice would be great.

Well I rang Baines and Earnst about the DRO to see if I could finally get it sorted and surprise surprise they tried saying a DMP or joint IVA would be best, even though they hadn't taken ANY of my outgoings

He even said to me, if you do a DRO then after the 12 months all your debts are still there and you have to pay them  Little liar!

I just told him that I wasn't interested in one of their pay monthly plans, I wanted a DRO and if they couldn't offer me one i'd go somewhere else, he said he'd transfer me and oh would you look at that, I got cut off

So i'm going to keep trying CCCS and hope I can get through to them because i'm not dealing with that company ever again!

Yeah I have my DMP with CCCS, that's why I wanted to do it with them because I know they're good but it's impossible to get through to them.

Going to try payplan tomorrow I think.
