  • i cam out of my from in june this year, i checked my credit file today as im about to go through referencing for a new rented house with my wife so thought i best check my credit file, my equifax credit rating is very poor at only 216 and it flashes up with court warnings, which say "bankrupcy order june 2011 court date 2010! amount £0.
I am slightly suprised as i thought a dro was without court and did not have anything to do with bankrupcy so y is this on my file???, i am so scared that this could cause me to loose the house i am going for with my wife, we are having to move as we rae expecting another baby and need a bigger home

For some reason the credit reference agencies are struggling to record DROs as anything other that 'bankruptcy'. and you are right in that the courts are not involved. So it is all a bit odd. But it will stay on your record for six years and so may well affect things.

Just an update on my hubbie's DRO application. I posted all the forms and paperwork to CCCS by Recorded Delivery on Friday 14th Oct and hubbie got paperwork back with letter stating current waiting time is 4 weeks, so will be looking for contact from them then

Just to let people know the current waiting time at CCCS really ;)

I can't believe that it is less than 3 months to the end of my DRO moratorium period :j :j Time flies ........... ;)

I just came on to ask the same question! I got an email yesterday from Experian to say there had been a change to my credit file. I logged on and my CCJ is now listed as deleted, but I also noticed that my DRO is listed as a "Bankruptcy Order" under the courts section!!

Is there no way of getting this rectified?

Not really, as experian don't list DROs as anything other than Bankruptcy currently. No idea why...

    Thanks I_A

Now...something else that has really confused me! I've had another email regarding another change to my credit file! So I log on to Equifax and look at my alerts!

On the 20/10/2011 this is what it read:

    s0v968.png

Now what is confusing me is that, yes a debt on my DRO was with the Halifax with account number ending 28-0, but this report is stating that has been deleted from my file, but a "new credit agreement" with account number ending 7312? I have tried to ring the halifax to find out what the hell is going on, as I have no new credit agreement with them, I have no new credit with anyone! Im not getting credit from anywhere!

This has really worried me, someone please shed some light!

Edit: I wanted to know what was going on, so got a £2 statutory report which i can view online, on the previous report the account number was ending 28-0 as shown above. On the one for today it is with the "new" account number?...

What Im confused with is why have they changed the account number? The details and default details are exactly the same..?

It's common for a bank to close a bank account where an overdraft has been listed as a debt on a DRO. They will either close it totally and expect you to go elsewhere, or will open a totally new account for your ongoing banking with no overdraft. Looks like that's what's happened.

    Thanks again I_A!

Is it right that the debt then gets listed on my credit report under another account number though?....my worry was that they were going to try and come after me under a different account number....

If it's a brand new account it'll have a brand new account number. It's more unusual than an account number is listed on your credit report full stop!
