Was the debt forgotten about as it would take the total debts over £15,000?
Thanks - I think you are right. I don't trust him at all but unfortunately I need answers to make my husband understand why he shouldn't lend money to him. I am against lending any money to him as I feel that we are feeding his habit of spending money he hasn't got:mad:0 -
Hi all, hope your all well!
I just came home tonight to a debt collecter letter from "Iqor" on behalf of my halifax debt!
At the time of my DRO being approved the debt was with Westcot, I informed them but I also informed Halifax when I spoke to them of my DRO. I rang Iqor to inform them of my DRO gave them the number and details and they were happy with that, told me it will be sent back to Halifax. I said to the guy i dont understand why its been sent to them anyway as they know its subject to a DRO. He told me not to worry and that when they send it back they'll send it back with all the information!
The difference when talking to these DCA's since the DRO being approved against before is unbelievable, they actually talk to you like your a human being now!! I dont mind ringing them up now cos i know they'll be nice to me!
Lets hope thats the last i hear from the dreaded Halifax!

Hi All
Ok so this is allvery new to me, and really I am just looking for someone to hold my hand as such!
My DRO is in full swing and have been on the phone to NDL getting my budget sheet in order and am now just waiting for the pack to come through the post for me to filland send back.
This does seem to be filling my head up the past few days since i decided to go ahead and I just need a bit of reassurance.
Is this really as good as it seems?
I can only imagine the relief of it being 'over' so to speak.
I got drawn in to one of these pay day loans just a week before I was given the advice to do the DRO....i'm guessing this can still go on my DRO but it may be extended?
What are the chances of the DRO being decline? I have studied my situation and I definatley qualify.
One last thing....my circumstances are not due to change at allin the next 18 months, but how would anybody know if they did without me notifying them?
Any help and advice would be great!!
Thanks

Hi.
First off don't worry all will be fine. I was a member of the DRO club up untill very recently. From the day the DRO was granted i did not hear one word from any of my old creditors with the exception of barclays whom i informed i had a DRO, gave them the number and that was it, didn't hear a peep after that.
Can't say for sure about the payday loan, but i remember getting some furniture through lx direct not long before i was told about a DRO and there were no problems when it went through.
As far as your circumstances changing go, if you know they won't change then don't worry about it.0 -
A very early but good morning to you all, very knew to the forum so be gentle with me.
I am planning on applying for a DRO and have had a meeting at CAB who confirmed that this would be possible, another meeting due a week today when I need to take all my statements etc in with me.
Firstly i have a few qs that I hope you can answer....
1) Can i take in statements from my internet banking etc as i now dont receive paper statements, save the planet and all that...and will I be able to print my credit report from Experian instead of applying for a copy?
2) I have accessed my credit report and alot of my debt with different banks etc are not shown on there, however all my previous addresses are, do I need to update this some how or will the statements be sufficient enough evidence of the debt?
3) Roughly How long from filling out the application and paying £90 is it for a decision to be made?
4) During this whole application, meeting at CAB process, what do I need to do with regards to trying to make payments on my debts, if I let them know that this is an ongoing process will they freeze all payments for the time being?
I would greatly appreciate any help and any information that would make me feel a little more at ease, as I have already killed a gambling addiction that caused my debts and have been gambling free for over 7 months, I'm hoping this is just another step to carrying on with my life as stress free as possible.
Many thanks0 -

What you have will be fine. A lot of debts don't appear on credit reports so it's up to you to make sure that everything is included.
Are you banking with someone not connected to your debts?
If you're sure you are going to do a DRO, stop making payments to creditors now. You can start paying toward the £90 as soon as you have your barcode.
When your application is submitted, confirmation is normally sent to your intermediary on the following day.0 -
It has been reported that CCCS only deal with non priority debt in their day-to-day work, but I don't know if this is true!
Many free organisations offer DROs
NEVER pay for a DRO - other than the £90 fee which is not negotiable
CCCS, National Debtline,CAB and others will do this free of charge apart from the fee.
CAB will offer face to face advice - again, others may do the same but I do not know.0 -
STOP paying your NON priority creditors - keep paying those that can take draconian action - energy - you can have your supply disconnected, Council Tax - you can eventually be imprisoned
TV licence- make sure you are NOT using your TV and can prove it - the fine can be up to £1,000
PAY the regular amount for these and other priorities - STOP paying everyone else.
Make sure you prioritise:
Roof over your head
Council Tax as they can imprison you - and some councils are ruthless over this
Energy bills as you can be disconnected
TV
Anything else that can really threaten you0 -
Evening all
I have just had my DRO forms sent through and and I have the mother of all migraines coming on.
The £50 or less they want to prove you have a month, is this before or after you pay any of your creditors?
My bank statement shows that I am paying creditors back but then am borrowing more money to survive, robbing peter and paying paul so to speak.
How closely do they look into your bank statements that you send in?
I'm really starting to feel sick with worry, even more so than normal!!0 -

The £50 surplus is based on your income and expenditure without payments to your creditors. Who are you getting advice from? they should have produced a budget for you on those terms?
Bank statements are checked in order to gain account numbers, and to check that you havent been using the credit recently for your gain. If you've been trying to simply make minimum payments then i cant see that being a problem. I would advise you to stop that now, if anything make offers of £1 per month until your DRO is completed0
