in general terms, would this be suitable for someone long term unemployed?

no assets to speak of (an old tv and pc, household furniture), debts approx £3,000 - half credi cards, half utilities.

    making nominal payments at present..

Yep suitable for long term unemployed, as should you get a job again during the 12 months, you debts will become active again.

can a ccj be add tho the dro
  • Don't see why a CCJ wouldn't be allowed in a DRO.
Speak to one of the debt charities, I found CAB brilliant, you need to go through one of them anyway to do your DRO.
    Good luck,

Can't you apply for a DRO if you live in Scotland? I only see mention of England and Wales on the site.
  • Just a simple question, can you get a DRO if you have a job
  • Yes, as long as your monthly surplus isn't over £50.

In Scotland there are these instead:

    Low Income Low Assets (LILA).

    and

    Debt Arrangement Scheme
Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

IVA & fee charging DMP companies: Profits from misery, motivated ONLY by greed
  • DRO's are different in Scotland
