Can anyone help me here i am asking all round the forums for a reply, my appointment is very soon.

Am i likely to get this DRO order processed or not? These are my basic details, i have a appointment next week at the CAB to fill in the forms, i am taking my whole JSA along and paying in full up front.

Rent £16 per 2 weeks approx
Electric £10 per 2 weeks approx
Food and other household stuff £40 per 2 weeks
    Catalogue £60 approx per month

I get £100 per 2 weeks JSA as the jobcentre are taking £30 per 2 weeks back in social fund loans.

I have to take last catalogue statement, proof of benefits, expenses sheet along with me. No assets or bank savings, live in council accomodation, unemployed. If anyone has already got one or know a bit about what else i would need for evidence etc please let me know.

    Cheers.

  • does anyone know what happens to bate dated dla if you get a dro? thanks
  • Hi Widelats
My husband has just had his DRO gone through, surprisingly straight forward really. If you are benefits there should not be a prob at all, will fail if you have more than £50 a mth left over after your living expenses - which you certaintly won't have!
Take all your paper work with you showing your benefits, rent, c/tax etc.
Ensure you also take along everything that's to go in your DRO as you cannot
add anything else on after. Don't forget, you're putting catalogue and social
fund repayment in your expensives but these will both go in your DRO.
Basically what will happen is that you'll fill the form in with the CAB, you'll pay
the £90 at paypoint/post office then CAB will zap the forms over. All being well
if you look on the 'Insolvency Register' online about 48hrs later you should be on it, this will be confirmed with a letter and that's it really!
    Good luck.

If the account is overdrawn, it'll go. If in credit by a small amount, shouldn't be a problem

Sky isn't an allowable expense for working out your surplus income but no-one's going to take it from you

The best way to lessen your debts is to manage your monthly expenses. No matter how small your budget is as long as you know the art of budgeting. In a span of just 3 months you will see how it works.

    Thanks.
