is a cd/dvd collection includable as an "asset"?

I wouldnt say so you get nothing for DVD's now. Far as i can make out its anything over £1,000 is classed a asset ... i think.

Will my employer know if i obtain a dro,

I asked the DRO unit to clarify a couple of things relating to this and this is their reply:
I can confirm that we do not intend to contact the debtors employer, when making a decision regarding the DRO process. If the debtor has an attachment of earnings order then we will notify the employer that a DRO has been approved. The debtors tax code should not change as a result of a DRO being approved.

So all the information on the application relating to the employer is just in case there is an attachment of earnings.

Am I right in thinking that it is only MY debts and MY income that will be taken into account? ie - my husband and I get joint benefits but I assume they will only look at the half that I am entitled to (he has his own debts to pay!) as all my debts were accrued in the years before I even met my husband, let alone married him!

I was told when I was considering bankruptcy that my husbands finances would not be assessed. We don't have any assets and my bank account was closed on me so all benefits get paid into my husband's bank account.

I hope this was the right place to ask? If not, please feel free to shift me along to a better place!

    Thank you!!!

From the minute you pay your £90 and filled the forms in, how long does it take to get the order active?

We have no assets at all. No car, no savings, no pension, nothing. We literally do exist each month on disability benefits and nothing else.

    Q. on revoked DRO's
i'm granted my DRO and six months in circumstances change and can now afford to pay a little to creditors? i was under the impression this would be so until the 12mths is up from the date of the dro then the debts will be written off?

If you get a new job or a pay rise and your surplus is over £50 then the DRO is revoked and you are left with all the debts again and will probably have to look at bankruptcy.
