Just an update - I've been quit for 23 days now :j Today I've had some real urges to smoke, but I think that's more to do with feeling wound up at work and being mad (and wanting a quick 'fix') than actually needing a ciggie. I'm just keeping busy and hoping it'll pass!
    Good luck to all quitters,

    Pam

    It's a private message qv :D

4 weeks last Sunday for me & I'm shocked that the time's gone so quickly  Is anyone on the inhalators? I was on 6 cartridges a day but decided on a little research & didn't change my cartridge all day, it don't feel any different  I have felt a bit agitated the last few days

Congratulations on the year ageing biker :T I know the health side was the main issue for you and that year free will have given you a real great start on getting it back, very well done indeed!!!

Congratulations on 13 months for you too suki1964, another amazing accomplishment!!! :T

Well done for seeing it for what it obviously is Pam and 23 days is great and well on the way to a month!!!! :T

That's fine Vi, you're welcome. That (as DUKE rightly says) is what a PM is, a private message. Hope it works and you do well.

Well done on getting to 4 weeks DUKE!!!! :T You've done marvellously but don't let the lack of inhalator cartridges get to you. You're gradually getting off the nicotine and that's why you're feeling as you do. It'll be so short-lived though so stick with it and you really will be doing just great!!! Plenty of water will help wash you through, try to get as much exercise as possible (any is better that none) as that'll relieve the agitation.

Very well done indeed Tommy!!! :T That vital first 24 hours is a great feeling and SO good for your lungs!!! Now go for the next ..and so on! skr80 is absolutely right about from day 3 onwards being much easier, go for it!!! All the very best.

Very well done you too DitaBombita!!:T Try not to stress too much about weekend and keep thinking about how you'd let yourself down IF you gave in, you'd literally hate yourself for doing so! Is it possible to only have 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks and keep on OJs for the rest of the time? Also, don't go outside with the puffers! Let them fill their lungs with that evil muck if they wish to, but don't get sucked in to doing so yourself - for YOUR sake! If anyone offers you one or tries to get you to have one, a firm emphatic "I don't smoke thank you" will be all you need to say.

Good luck and bear your statement from above in mind at the weekend "Woohoo no cigs and attendence at the work gym. Go me!"

Keep going well all, you're doing yourselves proud and are thinking so much about your lives, keep it up, keep strong!!

Hi everyone - glad to see so much activity and some old names still going strong!

Well it's coming up to my three month anniversary which will also be my f f-f-f-f fuffuffff 50th birthday! I am soooo pleased to not be smoking anymore.

I stopped taking Champix a couple of weeks ago, just forgot to take them and doing fine so far. I do get a bit down in the dumps sometimes and think it would be nice to have a cig, but then I smell someone at work who's just been out for a smoke and poooooh they don't half honk and I never want that again. I have been nibbling more than I should but I'm not going to beat myself up about it, deal with one thing at a time.

Anyway, good to see you all, I would have found it so much harder without this thread and the good words and encouragement it gives - especially you Sue.:T
