hi Charlie,
Don't worry about the blip. A lot of it is routine based, is there another way to work you could go? I used to light up at the same set of traffic lights .
Also if you get a craving, go and DO something, a quick walk to get a glass of water or orange juice or peel some clementines. Cravings are usually only a few minutes so it's a case of doing something to keep you busy and take your mind off it.

thats a really good tip naomi! I used to have 4 cigs on the way to work and light each one at a particular place every day. It didnt even occur to me to think if I actually wanted it or not!0

well it has been a couple of weeks since I was here so here goes with a synopsis. DH and I stopped on 5th Jan, allegedly we smoked around 25ish per day each, some more, some less but we worked out that it would be around that as we went through 2 cartons of 200 a week.
Old Mum lives with us and continues to smoke, bless her at 83 its her onluy pleasure as she says and I have got to respect that really. I bought a posh air filtration unit which sits beside her and is great
For the first 2 weeks we used patches and then I had to stop because of severe skin reactions so it was cold turkey, DH decided to go with that also:eek:   Let WW3 commence
We were both pretty unpleasant people at times, some days old mum took the brunt which made me feel a b**tch and then we decided just to have early nights, we came home, made dinner, washed up, had baths and could be in bed at 8pm :rotfl: I couldn't even come here and discuss the no smoking as I didn;'t even want to talk about it.
This week has been much more pleasant, I feel emotionally notmal, have got my humour back and I am not the Monster from H*LL. 6 weeks now and I feel rather pleased with myself:j :j
So guys, if I can do it, anyone can..I promise that I never ever thought I would see that I could ever ever..and I mean ever go cold turkey. Has it been easy..not a bit of it but it has so been worth it0 -

Ah well done both of you - looks like you have it under control and you've cracked it!!:j
Me and my fella are on day 11 now and we're doing ok, mood swings and stuff have subsided for me already as I've not used any nicotine replacement this time around  . I am actually feeling happier than I did as a smoker, my whole life seemed to revolve round when I could get mt next "fix"...
Lets hope we can all keep this good work up!!

Sounds just like me. I would have 3 on the way which was normally a 40 minute journeyI would also make sure I had more with me as there were often traffic jams. I used certain points of my journey to smoke.
Well done Sarah, Mudgekin and Tommy. Keep up the good work

Today has gone well, have managed to remain civil to my family and not overeat too much. Am going with the nico patch which i find work well for me and taking it hour by hour. A friend just popped round for a coffee and had a cig and the cravings were tolerable. Will have to keep myself busy over the w/e as that's when I binge smoke.
Well done everyone. Not massively in debt, but possibly heading there!0 -
Maccababe, do you have anything planned for the weekend? What do you normally do? I've found the housework hard :rotfl: normally I do something like clean the bathroom, have a cig, hoover, have a cig.. you can see the pattern:D So at the moment the house is looking a bit like a dump although I got the bathroom and kitchen really scrubbed today. Anyway... how about going for a walk? If the weather was anything like it was here in sunny Surrey today it would be lovely.. or the cinema or do some baking? If you are going to eat it may as well be something absolutely yummy you made yourself
