  • 12 days today for me and feel much much better, healthier, stronger, cleaner and more in control. Honestly think this is it now for me and smoking, after SEVERAL failed attempts at quitting! Too many reasons now to give up...baby due in April, committed to paying off debts in 2 years, not to mention the health benefits!

Just want to wish everybody a very happy christmas and a successful and smoke free new year. Thank you for being there!

A wise man once said, "Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight, just remember the homeless family who has no bed to lie in.
Should you find yourself in traffic, don t despair; there are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard-of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for the last three months.
Should you despair over a relationship gone wrong, think of the person who has never known what it s like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week, for £10 to feed her family.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance, think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new grey hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient in chemotherapy who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what life is all about, asking, What is the purpose? Be thankful: there are those who didn t live long enough to get the opportunity."

    Live long and prosper.

Hi everyone, it gives me the utmost pleasure to announce having reached a whole 12 years being free from fags!!

I never really thought I could give it up, not years ago, but then fear got the better of me for far too long and I literally was frightening myself to death at an unusual pain, yet another chest infection....thoughts of leaving my beloved hubby and children and I was thrilled on the first Christmas Day 1998 when I decided NEVER to smoke again - and here I am now 12 years later! :j

To everyone in their fight to quit and to all those thinking of doing so - PLEASE - don't be happy until you CAN quit, it truly IS possible and I am thrilled to bits I did it and achieved my goal. To all those wondering IF they might miss it sooo very much, NO you won't - after all, why miss something that CAN and WILL threaten your life so much IF you allow it!!! Good wishes to everyone who is still a smoker you CAN QUIT!!! To all those already on the journey, you already KNOW you can and I'm delighted for each and everyone of you! :D

Thank you for your wishes, splishsplash and congratulations on 4 months, 1 week and 1 day free!!! :T:T:T

Thanks also for your wishes, jammy and very well done indeed on being 3 weeks 5 days free!!!

Thank you too, larmy, but you also are a great motivator with some wonderul encouragement at just the right time!!!

Nige, what a very wise young man you are! You have a great outlook on life and are getting your priorities right in such a great way. Look forward to April and the birth of your little one, how proud he or she will be when they learn one day that "Daddy gave up smoking for me as well as himself!" :A

Thank you for that wonderful piece of wisdom which we'd all do well to have somewhere that we can view it often. :D Very humbling indeed.

Congratulations on a wonderful occasion, Daz!!!!! :T:T:T:T You've done fantastically well, dreaming your way through it all!!! :D

Thank you Ross, I came on especially to collect my wishes as promised!!!

Dear DD, thank you so very, very much!!! ;) I love the jinglebells doggy version!

Just think everyone....it won't be too long now before you can say I gave up smoking last year!!! :j:j:j Stay strong and it WILL happen!

So, to each and everyone of you marvellous non smokers...

A Very Merry Christmas and a very safe, healthy and Happy New Year!!!

    Keep safe and warm everyone.

    Love, Sue x
