Hi
1 year and 2 months :j and I'm still going. At the moment I'm not thinking about smoking at all. But there was a time, funnily enough round about the year mark, when I did. But thankfully it passed.
Keep going everyone. I am wealthier and healthier for quitting.

Larmy, thankyou so much, yes I completely agree they are there as pets when they are well, its when they are unwell you feel helpless and remember how much they mean etc etcdundeedoll wrote: »Ross Enjoy having your girl home again tomorrow!
Dundee, i was supposed to bring her home on the 23rd, but vet kept her in so hopefull she will be my xmas present lol :rotfl:
I have changed my signature, as having the dog in the vets and how her treatment currently stand at £2000 (thank god for insurance) that I realise how bad my finances actually are .... nearly 14000 in debt, I have given myself 24 months to clear these in a managable timescale, with manageable amounts etc, so along with the smoking which i dont even think about anymore, please wish me luck.
For those of you that may not be here over the next few days, I wish you a Very Merry Christmas, I hope it goes well and goes to plan, and especially wish you a very smoke free festive season, to those of you that will bea here over the next few days you will have to wait for your message :rotfl:
Merry Christmas everyone

Sorry Ross, got confused as I read the post earlier and it said 'tomorrow' but you'd posted at silly o'clock so you were thinking it was still Wednesday.....I know what I mean, even if you don't :rotfl:

£14000  but :T to you for acknowledging it AND doing something about it.
You really are doing so well, Ross and I believe in a strange way being in control (over the not smoking/reducing the debt in 2 years) you feel stronger.
Sometimes we kind of just bumble along in life not dealing with things because we believe that is the easier thing to do, but it's not until we actually do face difficulties head on and find solutions for them that we begin to feel better, stronger and in some kind of control.
I wish you all the very best, Ross..........for Bonny..........that you get the vet fees back without hassle.........for a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy 2011.........and of course that you stay on the nicotine free path as well as for dealing with the finances - or rather the lack of

Hellooooo again, IWRS andit's so good to see you.
Very Many Congratulations! :T:T:T It really doesn't seem THAT long ago, though as larmy, I too so well remember you coming on that day. I wouldn't be surprised if you thinking about it more at the year stage was due to knowing that it was was so close and such a HUGE achievement that it was bound to weigh more heavily on your mind.
Whatever it was, you've done marvellously and deserve to be sooooo very, very proud. Congratulations IWRS!!!!! A very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy, Happy new Year!
Helllooooooo again dear joop!!!!!! :hello:
So Very Many Congratulations! :T:T:j:T:j:T:T
TWO whole years of being absolutely smoke-free is such a wonderful goal  and I'm so very, very proud of you for that amazing success!!!! Just think how healthy you are now! I know what you mean about the support, joop, but ultimately it was YOU who did it, we can only encourage and support the rest is up to the quitters and you did brilliantly!
A Very Merry Christmas to you, joop, a healthy, Happy New Year to you and your family also. Very well done!
Hi again, Ross, I can't see her on my Avatar!!!I put a Christmassy one on last month and clicked the arrow doofer on the right and - nothing since then!!! Not even to be see on other folks Avatars! I tried on the Techie board and no-one answered, so I guess I must have [STRIKE]co*ked [/STRIKE] messed it up and I'm mad with myself. So, sadly I'm unable to see your dear Bonny. Never mind, I'm delighted to hear she's doing so well and will be back with you today - marvellous news!!! :j I do hope your cold soon gets much better....mine too, though thoughts of V & D don't bare thinking about, though mine started with really bad stomach pains and then D!!
I shall be flitting in over Christmas, possibly late on both evenings - so I'll have my greeting then!
BTW, our dear lad paid £3000 for his dear treasure to be made better last July - only for him to have to be PTS 2 weeks later!!! I swear they knew they were onto a good thing as they'd given him an x-ray and should most certainly have seen an enlarged heart and the fluid around it, but how cruel!!! If you have a good Vet, hang onto him/her, they're in short supply!
larmy, all very best wishes to you for A Very Merry Christmas, a healthy, Happy New Year to you and your loved ones also! Thanks soooo very, very much for all you do on here and all the help you give! :T:T:T:j
Thanks a lot DD, though I think we've a way to go yet. We're both on antibiotics, DH for sinuses, me for chest infection which isn't here yet, but....a preventative after smoking all those years.
A good example to eeryone to give up the weed, it's never, ever worth it!

Sue, Oh thats awful to hear that, some vets are just a*******s as you say they see that they are onto a winner, this vet seems quite good and seems to take an avid interest in the animals, so fingers crossed got a good one this time.
