The Giving Up Smoking Thread!! Part 2

A good definition, larmy.
That weather would be enough to deter the most hardened smoker, jammy ...wouldn't it??! You'll be ok though as you have the willpower to make quitting happen for you! :T
Well done, copperjar, though do push the wobble right out of your mind, the more you analyse or worry about something, the more it's likely to happen. Take it all a day at a time and tell yourself how wonderfully strong and determined you are - and are STAYING!!!
Keep at it all, you are amazing people who prefer to stay healthy rather than give in to the evil clutches jammy & larmy have described!
Okay everyone, have a lovely day, keep safe, keep healthy and keep fag free.

Hi everyone, sorry to hear about your wobble copperjar but well done for leaving it at just that - a wobble! If it was me id prob hav said "oh flip it il just start smoking again" so very well done, you are stronger than you think!!!:T:T:T
Well today I had a big row with OH which usually I would have used as an excuse to smoke but im very proud to say that I didnt! I even went to the shop for milk and didnt even think about buying cigs.
When I got back from the shop me and OH got talking again and he said with a smirk, "do u feel better now after your wee smoke" and he seemed surprised (but happy) when I told him I didnt smoke! Im very pleased about that as when iv started again in the past it has usually been after we have had a row and im in a mood lol!
My next hurdle will be going out with my friends on sat nite, usually with me its "when the drinks in the wits out" lol! But most of the girls im going out with are non-smokers so im hoping it will all go ok. Il come back on after to let you all know how it goes and to hopefully report that iv reached the elusive one month mark :j
Hope everyone else is well - only 17 sleeps til Christmas

Hi all
O I did laugh when sue uu said as long as you wernt a stick insect. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:More like an elephant lol! I had a bad craving before but, got through it. I didnt see my smoking advisor today because, I couldnt get out with the ice. She spoke to me on the phone and is happy for me to go straight to the chemist until the weather improves.
The reason why I havnt posted for a few days is my dongle has had no signal for what seems like ages.:(
Have a good evening everybody:beer:
Im easily pleased my fav craftin chanel has been on all day!:T

Success in the measure of 3 weeks and 3 days Catherine, bit also along with one almighty big step in not having buckled at a time that's normally thrown you in the past!!!!! :T:T:T Rows are a thing that can throw, or has thrown, us all during our smoking lives - stupid, but I can easily hold my hand up to having done so too. I didn't after I'd quit the final time, but before I often smoked twice as many as normal due to being in a strop, daft but....:( It only fires us up to smoke even more. I was so thrilled to hear your OH was so pleased with you at not succumbing to the evils, good for him to show such delight.
Do be careful not to have too much alcohol on Saturday - and be chuffed to bits at not having to go outside. Keep it up Catherine.
Never mind Jojo, at least now we might have lost your trunk!!! :rotfl: Very well done on staying away from fags and all the gut-rotting, lung-crippling things they do to us all. :T:T:T You're REALLY doing well this time round Jojo, I'm so proud of you!! Wasn't that good of your smoking advisor to ring you too, it's amazing how much they finally see we need this sort of support. So, any other weight loss Jojo? I want to work on this elephant image bit by bit and...don't forget to get away from that console every now and again to excerise yourself - as that too will soon make a heck of a difference to how you'll feel. A half an hour or even less periodically can do wonders - give it a go....and let's see if we can free you of his ears!!!Thank goodness I read about dongls a little while ago or I'd have been wondering what the duce you were on about tonight!! ....I hope it soon gets better!
Keep on the way you're going now Jojo and you really will be doing yourself so much good and the lungs will start to 'pink' up too; the list on how soon you can do yourself so much good goes on for ages, but for now, we'll keep the habit snapped firmly! Really great work, Jojo, a major achievement so far already! :j:j:j
Oh how good it is to see folk doing soooo very well, determined to keep on at it too. Well done everyoneand all the best for one day at a time.

DD, post 4695 is a marvellous one that should be in the homes of every ex-smoker in progress...thereafter too so they don't slip up or become complacent in any way. You're doing wonderfully well DD...stay strong at all times, though I still say we ladies have it tougher with TITM and all the hormones connected, it doesn't mean we can't master them though, just to expect to feel a little low at times. One for you this copperjar!
Oh how I :rotfl:when I read this bit of your reply to me Sue.
Not applied to me for 18 months................................until this morning!!!!!
Explains why I spent 14 of the 16 hours I was awake on Sunday in tears.........................Oh and why I had the most horrendous craving for bread (not supposed to have it
) and why I ate a load of nutty chocolate last night
(not supposed to have that either
)

Hi everyone. Still going strong again after the event (won't call it a wobble!) on Sunday. Its hard but I'm proud I've got through it. Saw the nurse today, she's going to extend my time on the tablets because of the Sunday issue - but was really lovely about it and very supportive.[STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000

It's so good to hear from you again, copperjar, good to to know you're doing so well too and staying determined. Keep at it as it really will work so long as you're always strong and on your guard.
It seems as though you have a gem of a Nurse to help support you, if you're able to tell her exactly how you feel and what you're going through, it will help you so much. It's marvellous to know such great Nurses are out there for those quitting. I know not all have been so good for some of those who've been here, but by and large they seem to have been hand-picked!
Go on, copperjar, you're getting further than ever on your journey, just keep moving in the right way!
I'm wishing you well and you know all of us here are right behind you and will be all the way through. We're committed and know you are too!! :j
Thanks DD, I'm glad it made you smile, though I've just noticed that I couldn't even spell it right .......after all these years!!!!! TOTM, ladies!
Stay firm and determined everyone, it's a great feeling once you get there and are through with fags for GOOD!!!! :j

Morning everyone,
This thread moves along at a fair pace, doesn't it? I'm so impressed that you had a wobble but got straight back on the horse again, copperjar, I really don't think I'd be that strong, so Well Done to You!
Today is the first day we haven't had ice, frost or snow since the start of the cold snap. It's actually a nice morning and currently about 7 degrees! Yay. I've got today off work to get the house ready to decorate tomorrow, so it's a day of cleaning and decluttering for me.
What I miss most now is not the cigarettes that would have previously punctuated a day like this - it's the numerous cups of coffee. I'll have to seriously consider decaffeinated, which are words I never thought I'd say - sacrilege!
I hope everyone has a good day, smoke-free, of course!I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Snap! I've got an unexpected day off and am going to be cleaning & decluttering (once I get off of here)
Previously I'd have thought: 'I'll finish on here..........have a coffee/ciggie, then do lounge. After doing that I'll have a coffee/ciggie then do kitchen. When I've finished I'll have a coffee/ciggie..............etc etc' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Nicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Hi all,
Sorry not been here for a few days .... I went back to work this week after having 17 weeks off sick!!!
Just to update everyone I have been going strong, and have even stood outside with the smokers on one occasion as I could not resist the gossip lol, but no smoking for me .. I am so proud of myself :j
I can not wait another 6 hours and 14 minutes so as I can say I have done 4 weeks with out smoking, and come sunday night when it will be one calendar month YAY.
I hope you are all well and have been going strong, I know one or two people have had some iffy moments and some slip ups but remember this, we are all human, we all cope with things differently and we all make mistakes, its those mistakes that we learn from.
I wish you all the best of luck in your quits, and remember we are all here if you have an iffy moment where you really can not cope, early on in my quit I found it helpful to just start at the beginning of the thread and read post after post to get me through those moments, which luckily I only had 2
