Lovely to know you're safely home, jammy, still off the weed too, though I truthfully never expected anything different. It's so sad to see poor souls outside in this bitter weather. Let's hope they'll soon come to their senses, hit a good time and say goodbye to it!!!
It's so wonderful to see how marvellously you're doing, shoperholicnot, barely any side effects either, great news!!! :T:T Just keep right on chalking off the days! You're doing sooo good!!
Have a wonderful day everyone, sit back and enjoy being liberated from all that disgusting tack!!!

That is such lovely news for a Sunday morning. I am so happy for you as you cannot beat that feeling of optimism and the sure knowledge that this time it really is it!
I am still struggling with my weight. I feel it is pathetic but is something I have never really got to grips with. Currently I am gaining back the half stone I took off not so long ago. Was wondering if there is anyone out there would like to buddy up for say six months? Just exchange emails, that kind of thing? PM if you have the same struggle as me.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hi everyone, nearly 3 weeks :j
Its weird though I feel like it should be longer, it seems like months since iv smoked and my OH agreed. I dont know if thats a good thing or not lol!
Iv been doing fine without the patches havnt had any bad cravings so far, just the odd moment where I have thought to myself "i would usually smoke now", like if im waiting on a bus or if im out shopping with my mum and we stop off for coffee. Any other time iv quit it used to really bother me when I was out with my mum as she smokes and it was our wee thing to do together as silly as it sounds. However I dont feel like that this time, in fact when im with her and shes smoking it makes me glad that I dont smoke anymore. For instance when we went to see Peter Kay on thursday night and the venue was non-smoking so she couldnt fully relax as she was choking for a smoke. She ended up spending the interval running about trying to find a smoking area, while I could relax. She didnt find anywhere to smoke in the end and the whole thing just made me so glad that I had quit. Now im working on getting her to quit too lol!
One thing iv noticed since being off the patches is im getting hungry in the evenings, so im going to have to try to stop eating choc and sweets at night before I put on weight as iv not long got to my ideal weight after having the girls!
Well done everyone on your acheivements :T:T:T

Hi everyone. Great to see the positive vibes still going strong, well done to everyone :T
I'm almost up to the mark I got to last time and then started again. Its funny, last time seemed easier but this time I'm more determined. I have still been getting pretty bad cravings, although I think I sometimes confuse the feeling of general stress/anxiety about things happening in my life with the craving for a cigarette.
Catherine - I completely know what you mean about how great it is to go somewhere and not be panicking about how/when you'll get chance to have a fag. I think the freedom from not smoking is the greatest thing of all. I'm looking forward to Christmas with the family with not having to sneak outside for a crafty fag. I hated that!![STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000 -

im back to grind stone tomorrow and pleased i wont be joining the throng outside on a snatched fag break, they too were disappointed i got side tracked so they willl be pleased for me too that i got back on the wagon so soon ...
its been a snowy one here so have availed of opportunity to tidy out all my kitchen cupboards , ...its a " thing " of mine i hate them when they are in disarray so now they are neat and tidy and kept me busy
its early days so strategicallly planning my day to keep busy and reminding myself to sip plenty of cold water rather than reach for sugary snacks ..or worse ...
keep up the super work and HoOrah to a smoke free future everyone ..FREEDOM !!!!! :j:j0 -
Hi all I posted on this thread last year before falling off the fag wagon. I'm a serial quitter who is completely back on the dreaded cigs at the moment. I've given up many times and have stopped twice for over 3 years each time but always end up starting again. On a positive note my time between quits gets shorter and shorter. I'm planning my next quit before new year and would really welcome any advice from people. I spent £250 (all my cig money for two months!!)on hypnotherapy in September so I am really keen to pack up again. I'm planning on using patches as I find they suit me better than other things I've tried. I love it when I'm not smoking...i hate the smell on other people when I've quit, I love the extra money but the first few days I always find horrendous. By the way congrats to all quitters on here and I find your success very motivating!TRYING VERY HARD TO START SAVING!

Hi Hattiefats and welcome.
A lot of us on here have been serial quitters like you. We seem to have found a special strength once we have joined this thread as the support is absolutely tremendous.
It is true what they say, that there is strength in numbers.
I sincerely hope you can get your mind fixed on a new quit very soon.
Yes it can be tough those first few weeks. Have you asked you doc for Champix. There are quite a few people on here who have found it really helpful.
Either way, just keep posting and reading until you find you will be itching to get on with the job. Smoking is such a drag, if you pardon the pun.

Hi everyone,
It wil be 2 weeks of no smoking tomorrow so feeling really pleased. I did have a weak moment last week and did have a couple of cigarettes, I went without the patches and think that and the bad weather was the problem, but I got back on the band wagon following morning and all fine again. Went to chemist on Friday and Carbon Minox was 2 so still good.
I am now on Step 2 of 24 hour patches so dosage reduced.
Hattiefats I have also started and stopped many times and this time am on the patches I think that once you start on the program it is not as bad as what you anticipate it to be, I know that I faultered but I have been out on few social occaskions and have managed fine, I would love the ciggie after meal etc, but that is the habbit and do fee better ie breathing at night no longer like a train, still coughing but feeling better for my success.0 -
Hi everyone. I'm sorry and ashamed to report that today I smoked
Everything just got on top of me and I went and bought a pack of 10. I'm trying not to dwell because otherwise I'll just get upset with myself again and want to smoke more. There's no excuses, I just felt everything getting on top of me more and more throughout the day and in the end just went out and bought some.
Not smoking any more now. That's it. I can't let myself get back on the smoking train. I can't afford it, don't like it and won't do it. Sorry for messing up.[STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000
