Shall I go without the patches if I feel I don't need them, what do you chappies think. I could carry one in my bag incase it was needed. I am due to go back to the Chemist on Friday for another weeks supply.
Am I putting the cart before the horse LOL
Hi debie, as I said to Catherine, it's a difficult question to answer as you're still in earlyish days - BUT - give it a try by all means and see how you go. Any cravings - real or in the mind - then see how they go and if you're anywhere near thinking of "just one puff or oh, bu**er it, I'll have one"" GO BACK ON THEM - please!!!! For any cravings, sip a glass of water, breathe un and out slowly, but deeply about 10 times or go for a walk, eat an apple or peal an orange, run upstairs, get the washing in even if there's none out - ANYTHING until it passes and it will, sooner than you think. You seem to be keeping busy anyway, stay that way as it helps a heck of a lot. Keep giving up - but - never give in!!!Good luck debie and please let us know what's happening? Sue x

Hi everyone.
Tatty, Debie, Rmplc and of course Jammy & Choille.
The thread is so lovely and positive at the moment. Just think you will be able to spend Christmas smelling fragrant and not wanting to escape for a puff.
You know this is just a little thing, but it means so much to me. When someone asks me if I want a cup of tea and they are almost always a non smoker, I just love the fact that now there is nothing missing. The tea is a reward in itself.
Before a cup of tea meant a ciggy too. I used to look at non smokers and think there was something missing from their lives, but I was a fool. It was me who was missing the very thing they had. Peace of mind from slavery.
Anyway keep it up everyone. :j:T:jGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I used to look after a neighbours (very intelligent ex guide lab) dog at my house.
After a couple of days I noticed that as soon as I put the kettle on she would leap out of her bed and go straight to the back door.
Every tea/coffee meant a ciggy............and I didn't usually smoke in the house, only the back garden.
PAVLOV EXPERIMENT????????? :eek::eek::eek:
Soooooooooo good to see all the positive posts! :T:T:T
Jammy Hope you had a safe journey after your few days away - sounds like that was just what you needed. Well done on your determination. FAB.....UUUUU.....LOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Ref the smell...............I posted a couple of pages back that I came out of Mr. T's and walked straight into a 'smoke fog' - I literally urged and was sick
Just to clarify when I said a few posts back: 'My first thought was I'll be able to smoke in front of the woodburner' I DIDN'T mean I was craving..........just that it was my first thought as I'd forgotton for that millisecond that I'm a non smoker :rotfl:Nicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Hi everyone,
Well I am 1 week smoke free now, I was out at a friends birthday on Saturday and it was actually fine, it was good not having to go out in the cold to have a fag.
Also I can relate to what someone was saying about the smell, I could tell when someone had just come back from having a ciggie.
Well done everyone else, this thread is so inspriational.
I was thinking this morning of the following
I no longer want to be a prisoner to the cigarettes
I no longer want to always have to plan ahead for next cigarette
Eg. How many have I got left, what time does the shop open etc etc.
My breathing has already improved.
We just have to learn to hate it and not get sucked in to the I'll just have one, which I have done so many times in the past and have ended back on them.
Debie reading your above post reminded me of something I posted a while back.
I have reposted it, as when I first saw it posted it really struck a chord with me and some of the more recent visitors to the thread may not have seen it before.dundeedoll wrote: »Somebody posted this on this thread 1 day and it struck a chord with me, so I edited it slightly, printed it and kept reading it.
Just thought I'd repost incase it helps some of our new gang:D
I hate having to make sure I've got enough fags for the day.
I hate having to shove a packet in my (already) overstuffed bag.
I hate going into the shops asking for 20 cigs.
I hate not wanting to talk to people because my breath stinks of smoke.
I hate that I spend £15 a week on something I set fire to.
I hate getting up 10 minutes earlier so that I can have a cigarette
I hate that I have to sit in the garden in the snow and rain.
I hate that I cant sit still after eating a meal.
I hate getting stressed in the morning just because I havent had my tea and fag yet.Nicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Hiya - Jammy - great you're on the wagon again. You gave me so much support as did everyone else. Sue you are a marvel & really care & help all the people who are stopping - you are a diamond. Hiya Larmy - well done to you & everyone.
Stay warm & stay indoors if you can. It's perishing outside.
All the best for a smoke free December to all.0 -
Good Heavens, choille, I've been called some things in my time, but never a diamond!!! Though thank you, but Ido love helping others to get where I am and to become content, fear-free and happy with themselves.
A busy couple of days on the "Sealed Pot Challenge" threads, changing from one to tother. Excuse me butting in larmy, but did you put your total on the other day or just say you would? I just can't remember and there are soooo many posts on there now to crawl through.
BTW, I completely agree with your post larmy, a cuppa always meant a fag and now I shudder at the thought.
Well done jammy!! It's no good telling you to keep up the good work, because I am absolutely positive you will as you're a battler and you've done it all once so...... No more to be said really now is there.
A good one with those re-posts DD!!! Good thinking.
Keep your eye on the goal folks!
