Hi allan, so glad to hear your doing so well

I had some very vivid dreams last night, one was about a man in my past lol and the other was I'd had a baby, but didn't know I was pregnant in the first place, I woke up in a bit of a panic I can tell you but they do make me laugh.
Im wondering what or who I'll dream of tonight and if I have any spare tablets left at the end I'll pass them on to you so your sleeps won't be too boring haha

Side effects now are bit of drowsiness late morning and feel a bit drunk like and the previous little side effects I had have gone so I'm hoping these will too.
I don't feel the need for a cig so much now and have one just for the sake of it which is ace. Am intending on giving up on day 10, Friday and I go on to the blue tablets tomo.

Did you notice much difference either in side effects or effects of champix on smoking after you increased the dose allan?
  • 1 week - champix

going good, although have had to ask my dearest darling daddy to ring me in mornings to make sure i'm up! having quite restless sleep, although i'm not lying awake for hours, i am waking up periodically, wondering why i've woken up, then drifting off again after a couple of minutes, plus the dreams! this morning i dreamt my phone was a bomb strapped to my hand, and i had to stop the music (in actual fact my alarm) within 5 seconds of the minutes ticking over, or my hand would explode! i was actually looking at my phone every couple of minutes, but it took my dad ringing me and me seeing his name to make me realise this was real life, not a dream!

not really getting cravings as such, just a thought pops in like "oh, if i smoked i'd probably want one now", and then i remind myself i don't really want one, and it goes away again!

have been a little bit naughty, supposed to be taking two tabs a day now, but find they give me really bad nausea if i take them early in the day, so i just take one after dinner now. although, it's not like i'm ODing, i'm UDing, haha.

    3 week, 2 days - champix

missi1 when i started taking 2 tablets per day it made no difference at all with side effects to be honest. or rather i have had no side effects apart from the dreams and feeling a bit nauseous on day 1. "on day 1 i took the tablet on an empty stomach, plus i was absolutely knackered from working nights"

itselliebell are you taking the champix just after food?? i was told to take them 10 to 20 min after food to stop any feeling of nausea. if i were you i would try this.
also i would start having 2 tablets per day. they tell you to do this for a reason and to complete the full course for the best chance of quitting for good.

Thanks allan, day 2 of Blue tablets now and feel the same as I did 2 days ago with regards to side effects, so far so good :j
  • 1 week 1 day champix

hi allan, thanks for the advice, i'll try it this weekend and see how i get on! i was tending to take my morning tablet at around 10, after my morning break, at this stage all i'd have in me would be a packet of snackajacks, advantages or velvet crunch. (not a morning person in case you hadn't guessed yet) but i'm definitely going to try and at least have a round of toast before work, or even have a couple of slices on my morning break (since i don't smoke i've got the time!) and then leave it 10-20 mins, i suppose it helps if your food is settled a bit more. i was taking my night tablet right before i went to sleep, so if it did give me nausea or a headache i was normally sleeping by the time it hit anyway, but then last night i took it about an hour after dinner and found it really hard to get to sleep because of the nausea.

glad to hear it's going well missi, am i right in thinking tomorrow is your quit day?

loving not being a smoker today, because it is all blustery and yucky outside, and both my workmates are smokers, came in freezing and stinking of smoke after breaks, i came back warm, with tea, and some crocheting done! hooray!

Hi itselliebell, yes tomo is the day and I actually believe I will be able to do it judging by the way I feel when having a cigarette and also realising that I've not had a cig when I normally would have done.

Well done you on the week 1 day mark, I bet you feel great that you gave up. The moment I am looking forward to is when all nicotine is out of my system which I think is about 3 days looking at the stop smoking booklets I have.

Let us know how you get on with the tablets, I get a touch of nausea for a few minutes but thats about it but I make sure I have 2 slices of toast, tablet, then 2 more slices and then the evening one I take half way through my dinner.

Also, when I have had my tablet I try and trick my mind into thinking that I have only had a sweet or something, sounds silly but I think this helps with keeping any nausea at bay.

    Well done again :T

    Hi everyone.

Itsellie, Allen and Missi I have been reading your posts even though I have not had time to comment. You are all doing so well and it is good that the Champix Crew can support each other. Keep it up. It really is worth it.

Sorry if I have missed anyone out!

I have been very busy which is why I have not been posting. Still smoke free and still very happy about that.

Hello to Pam, Sue and DD - hope to be able to keep up with the thread now!

    Big hello to everyone
Sorry to have been absent - a very manic week, and not much computer time makes me an unhappy bunny
I'm glad to see everyone's doing really well - it's great that those using champix can support each other and swap tips. Good luck for tomorrow Missi1 - it sounds like you're good and ready to stub out your last ciggie :j

I'll go and have a proper read and catch up, and have a good weekend everyone,

    Pam x
