    1 week - 3 days, champix.

well done everyone for doing so well !!!
itselliebell & bargainmad i hope you quit this time too with champix. i had tried patches and inhalators in the past, but champix seem to be really working for me.
today has been good, very very mild craving, well not really a craving - i think its just me thinking of cigarettes, rather than actually wanting or needing one. its hard to describe.

    keep up the good work.

  • on day 3 of the champix now, so will be doubling the dose up tomorrow. have noticed that i'm wanting to stub a cigarette out when there's still a lot left, thinking i must be nearly finished! also, have noticed myself in a really really good mood... i'm not sure if that's a positive side effect of the champix, or if i'm just feeling positive in myself!

bit worried about the vivid dreams though, it takes me an hour to realise reaching over and pressing snooze on the alarm isn't part of a dream, and it is in fact time to get up! haha. once i lay in bed laughing and flapping my legs about seemingly awake, my partner asked me why i was laughing, i replied "oh, i stuck my legs out of the covers and thought i was a dolphin" i have absolutely no recollection of this...

not nicotine free yet, but definitely feeling like i'm going to quit on day 8 of the tablets as i'm leaving more and more each time i have a smoke!

has anyone else on champix had a... urm... the chicago problem? (let's see who's switched on today, haha)

Sorry Sue, yes it was Di that asked. I just quoted that and then answered it.

You're forgiven DD...just this once at least! ;)

Many congratulations splishsplash, you are doing wonderfully well!!! 5 weeks is amazing! :T

Hello sockdrawer and a very warm welcome to you, and of course we'll help you out, a pleasure in fact. It was sad to hear of your experience, but at least you already know that you CAN do it! I was never aware of Psoriasis being aggravated by smoking, but I used to suffer terribly from it..then it suddenly got much, much better and now I know why! Thanks for that. Read the book and keep coming back and you'll receive all the support and back up that you need. All the very, very best SD and I'm sure that for your health's sake alone you WILL do it and STAY QUIT!!! :)

A very warm welcome to you too BARGAINMAD101!! All the very best with Champix, you have at least Daz and Alan here who are using it with great success and both only too glad to give all the help they can - 2 great guys! As with sockdrawer, keep on chatting to us and we'll willingly help you all we possibly can. You're in good company and are on a great journey!

Hi again itselliebell, another dreamer who shares them with us then!!! :D I loved the bit about the Dolphin, look out for more fishy antics...though please - don't drop off in public will you!!!! :rotfl:What you describe with the 'wanting to stub a cigarette out when there's still a lot left' is just like others who've been on Champix. I suppose it happens as the drug get further into you and does what it's meant to do, completely put you off fags.

    Goodness only knows what

"has anyone else on champix had a... urm... the chicago problem? (let's see who's switched on today, haha)" means??? I'll bet Daz has had it!! I was going to google it, but am fearful of doing so!

Have a good sleep (that's a laugh with you Champix lot! :D) everyone and have a GREAT day tomorrow...or later on!

Morning all, hope everyone is well and enjoying or trying to be smoke free.

Not posted on here this week as a family member passed away although I have been browsing posts as and when I could.

So then, could'nt get on with the patches so had a good read up on Champix this morning. Went to the weekly stop smoking session this morning and asked if I could try it so they have given me a referral letter for my doctor to prescribe an initial 2 week course, it's worth a try and I know there's a few people on here that are on Champix so will be good to read how your doing on it as well.

Itselliebell, your post did make me laugh about the dolphin, wonder which creature I'll be lol, must remember when I start the course to set at least 3 alarms for the next morning...

    1 week, 1 day - champix

    dazco
yes the champix come in a foldable packet with 14 days supply. i did not know they did a months supply? maybe its so i go more often for the carbon monoxide readings? a months suply would be better though, i might mention it next week. did they come in a packet again? or just a glass bottle - loose tablets.
i have to go to the nhs smokefree once a week anyway for a review etc. although it will be a little longer for my next appointment as i cannot get there due to my shift pattern.

Hi Allan, hope all is going well.

I wanted to ask you that when NHS stop smoking gave you your letter to give to your GP, did you have to make an appoint to see Doctor before they prescribed them? Also, do you have have to keep taking the letter to GP every time you need you next lot of Champix?

    Many thanks

    Missi :)
