End of day 2 for me and still off the weed, Today has gotten tougher to be honest, I started off today fine and now well I'm not climbing the walls but I think I'm heading that direction. Oddly I have noticed its at home I have the most problems where as I thought it would be at work as I used to enjoy going for a wee smoke break to kill the monotony. One thing I did notice today was my breathing seemed alot better, I have asthma caused by the smoking but today it was like breathing in HD it was great and I have been sucking at mints and that just makes it even better
However like 415SanFran day 3 seems to be my falling point
I am just over a month into quitting and I have saved £375.:T
I saw two men and a woman occupying the front seats of a van today, all smoking. It really didn't look nice.
I had my last chablix (or whatever ) on Thursday. I have nearly two months of the course left but forgot to take one on Friday and have not taken any since.S!!!!horpe0 -
I'm still going strong:T
I hardly even think about cigarettes any more. I had a mild panic yesterday when I realised I would be going out drinking over the w/e and that will be the first time without smoking so I need to be strong.
Keep going all you newbies, it DOES get better.
Well done to those still stopped:T:dance:Mash p'tater, mash p'tater:dance:0 -

Hi chevettehs! I'm not at all surprised that it's your quitting of fags that's led to you getting your cash problems back on track. Keep up the quitting Chev..the savings too!
That's a real shame SanFran. It's amazing how many of you seem to get it into your head that the 3 day thing seems to become a problem. I know it's only my experience, but by 3 days I was convinced I'd done marvellously and just couldn't wait to get to my first week..then two..then a month etc. I wonder if there's a sort of boredom thing that creeps up on those of you with this problem, so for all of you who get like this why6 not try your darnedest to battle through that 3rd day and be delighted when hitting the 4th! You CAN beat this 3rd day problem, but if needs determination and plenty of will-power, but it CAN be done!! Take heart from your partner SanFran and lean on him as and when you need to, but grab all the encouragement he's giving you so much of as he so wants you.....ALIVE and healthy!!!
Well done on another day achieved slugger! With regard to the 3rd day problem have a look at my reply to SanFran and see if it'll help you too. When having the problems at home, find something to occupy your mind at the times you find the hardest, or get up and go on our for a walk. Sipping on a glass of water helps too, so does tucking into an apple or sucking an Ice Pole. Concentrate your mind on just how great your breathing is ALREADY! You CAN do this!
Fantastic news Daz!!! You're doing amazingly and have so much to be chuffed to bits with :T :T:T All that savings already too! Great advice to the others too, you're right in that they DO NOT need one!
You're doing marvellously Shel!!! :T:T:T Please don't worry too much about the weekend, you have it within you to STAY STRONG!! How about taking something to 'fiddle' with, bunch of keys or something rubbery that you can squeeze. I'd advise you stay inside though and not mingle where temptation might be. Just remember, going back in any way would make you almost hate yourself. You'll be ok though as you've done so well and come so far, I'm sure you'll stay that way!:j
Many Congratulations stclair!!! 6 months..and 6 days too is the BEST news!!!! :T:T:T I'm absolutely thrilled for you on having done SO very well!Saving £500 and having a holiday in Barcelona is so much to look forward to, and you EARNED it all yourself!! Thanks ever so much for coming back to let us know C, please keep it up as it's so good for others in the progress and helps encourage them when they see others have made it! Great news!
There you are everyone, another success story to let you know it's all so possible IF you stay strong and fight every minute. It's so worth it and the further ahead you can get the better you'll feel in health and you'll feel so good in mind!! You CAN do it!

I finally did it :j this is day FOUR.
I put a smelly thing in the bathroom yesterday, I CAN actually smell it!
I get clothes out of the wardrobe now and they still smell of washing powder!:D
Thank goodness I now live in a smoke free house, I really can tell the difference.:T
Now I am just waiting to taste my food a bit better.
Can't tell with the breathing as yet as I still have this silly infection that has helped me to get to day FOUR! (can't stop saying it, and waiting to say day 5)
I have had loads of mouth ulcers, has anyone else had this? May be no connection just wondered.Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50

Well done:beer: I am at the end of day 3 myself which is a hell of an achievement for me.
I know what you mean about smell, mine seems to much more sensitive.
My breathing is great, thats the best part for me being an asthma sufferer, I might actually attempt so exercise this weekend to see how far I get.
I just wonder, does it get any harder that this? This seems to be easy to be honest, Its not supposed to be easy, I am supposed to be in the depths of depression by now. I hope I've not spoke to soon0 -

Slugger, I was on Fifty a day and I found it easy to quit. All the cold turkey symptoms may have been alleviated by the tablets I was on, but the other "problem" for the first couple of weeks was the triggers. Getting in the car, finishing a brew, after a meal, my hand would actually start reaching for cigarettes that were never there. I never mourned the cigarettes for not being there, just gave myself a wry smile because I don't smoke anymore.
I am that overjoyed that I have got rid off this monkey off my back, that I have quite forgot that the monkey used to stroke my head :rotfl:
Keep going, remind yourself it is easy :T:T:T:T:T:TS!!!!horpe0 -
Excellent news SanFran,:T yours aswell slugger!!!!! :T You've both got through the part you didn't think you could, what an accomplishment!!! :j
Don't wonder too much about the 'what might be's' slugger, focus on how far you've come, the benefits you've got yourself, keep that up and focus on NOW!!! Incidentally, you being an asthma sufferer should mean you should be getting regular excerise anyway! Tut, tut, tutExercise helps even more with successful quitting - so, yes, do try it.
Don't concern yourself about the mouth ulcers SanFran, it really is very common and is brought about by all the changes going on in your body, but just like all other colds, sinus problems etc, it will settle down soon enough, honest! Doesn't it make such a great difference that the sense of smell comes back so very quickly.Your body's on it's way through recovery, keep that in mind.
Great advice Daz! You're doing soooo very well. :T BTW, keep up the wry smile, it's a great sign of doing a job well, though beware of that monkey!
Keep at it folks and stay focused on getting through one day at a time ....and don't listen to too many folks experiences as they don't always apply to others. You are unique and a NON-SMOKER!!!! :j

Great to hear from Sanfran, Dazco and Slugger. Slugger if you are finding it easy, then celebrate!
I am a year and nearly 3 months on and very occasionally I will have a trigger or memory (not sure which) but it is very easy now to just think, oh that's interesting and not feed into it.
Great news all.:TGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Grrr I slipped. I was reading the evening paper and something triggered a memory of me smoking, In my 4 days off them I would say it was my first proper craving, I tried to fight it, I had a bit of chewing gum, I had cold water, I even pottered around the garden but I couldn't shift it, I mean this went on for an hour, So I walked 1 mile to a shop and bought 10 fags, even the walk didn't put me off, I had the smoke and it was totally rotten and I wondered why the hell I did it, Now I'm riddled with guilt as my wife and kids were totally behind me now I feel like I let everyone down
How do I pick myself up again?? A note to anyone else in my situation DON'T DO IT, YOU WILL REGRET IT
