The midgies are driving me demented - cigarette smoke always kept them away. What do we do now??

The clegs are awful today. All the lambs are miserable with being bitten by them.

It has been very wet & is very thundery today. It's so oppresive I feel that I could riot!!!!

People are becoming annoying & I am fed up but we'll just have to plough on - I have caravan fever.

Hi, I haven't been here recently. Just wanted to let you all know that I am still NOT smoking. Haven't touched one since the 7th of June:T

I recently spent a couple of days with a smoker and it didn't bother me at all. Just need to get over the hurdle of going out for a drink without one now:cool:

    Best wishes to everyone quitting:T

Just thought I'd drop to say hi to all - am just coming up to 18 months quit :D:j
I was just reading posts from people talking about 'smoking dreams' - had quite a few of those in the early months. I remember feeling mortified when I woke up, thinking I'd been smoking, and then felt brilliant when I realised it had only been a dream!
I really feel I'm getting over being a smoker. I was standing near some people the other day - they were puffing away before they got on their coach and the smell was so horrible I had to get away. It just plain stank  I never would have believed that could happen, as in my practice quits I'd always feel like grabbing the ciggy out of their hands!
Good luck and keep at it, you new quitters - you really can do this. As I often say, the feeling of freedom from this horrible addiction is unbelievably good.
    See you all again soon,

    Pam

Hi there oldreekie, and well done you on over 5 months being free from fags!!! :T D'you reckon your lack of energy could be to do with your CD?

Hi choille, with the stress you're under, how about googling for Andrew Johnson as he has some marvellous CDs for stress. Put one of those on and it settles you right down. Worth a try I promise. Should you have an iPhone he has apps you can get for free. I take it the clegs are your word for the midgies, it isn't my DH's word!!! ;) You're doing marvellously without fags though, all down to YOU!!! :T

Very well done indeed Shel!!! :TKeep going hard at it and you'll be so proud of yourself, as you are already I'm sure! :D

Lovely to see you once again Pam and many, many congratulations on having quit for almost 18 months...BRILLIANT NEWS!!! :T:T:T Keep on coming back and spurting folk on, please. It really does do great good. :) After 11 and 1/2 years I still find other people's smoke nice on some days, downright disgusting on others, though the thought of being back smoking....YUK!!! :( No bloomin fear!

OK folks, another day to chalk up and great for you all! :j

Lets close with the quote below from Pam, it sums up what all quitters feel like...you ALL too soon enough! Have a GOOD day. :)

Thanks Sue, but the CD is under control. When I smoked, I had a list in my head almost like a tickertape - things to do. Come to think of it - this was rather stressful. Now, there is nothing, absolutely nothing!! I am lethargic, disorganised, forgetful and without focus. Not interested in the garden, don't want to get on with painting the house.......

Just want to head off into the sunset and explore the world :D
    I am a non-smoker :j last cigarette 10th February 2010

I know exactly what you mean! I got more done as a smoker because I'd think 'I'll get such and such done, then have a coffee and a ciggie' Without ciggy breaks, life just goes on.... and on.....and on.... Maybe that's why my garden's like a jungle and my house ahem needs tidying and hoovering. And you do feel a bit off balance somehow with a coffee in one hand and no ciggy in the other one :D
Still, I'd much rather have life the non-smoking way!
