Seven months for me on the 19th July :j

Still get occasional strong urges to smoke, but having no money to spend on ciggies helps in bucketloads. Also, said it before and will say again, how much money (tax) have I deprived the government of? That alone makes me feel BRILLIANT!!!

    Best wishes to you all.

Hi jammy dodger - how wonderful! I do hope that the weather is kind to you and that the whole family continues to have such fun. They must be thrilled that you have stopped smoking.

4 Months, 3 Weeks & 4 days for me. Hardly think about having a cig now even though we've had a stressful time.

I'm really glad I stopped. I cannot think how I afforded to smoke. People look weird when I see them smoking now.

Hope Sue your OH gets well soon.

Great stuff Old Reekie - you've been such an inspitation to me as has Jamie Dodger. We are all stars you know.

All the very best to all & to all those thinking of stopping - If I can do it after 32 years & never really believing I could, you all can do it. It isn't actually as hard as you think if you take it one day at a time.

Ah..I'm with you now oldreekie, thanks for that and thanks for letting me know about the link with migraines! We keep on learning. Glad to hear your DH is ok now, though I agree with overnight stays sadly now being a thing of the past, before is way too soon to let most folk out. OK for them but too much pressure on the loved ones instead. :) oooh the word Matron and dear old Hattie Jaques always springs to mind, now she'd never have allowed her staff having fags..or Nurses being obese! Bless her.

That is such TERRIFIC NEWS jammy dodger and Tippy, you've both done soooo very, very well..and you're both so delighted you've kicked it for good, fantastic news and well done to you both! :T:T I know what you mean about the occasional urges Tippy, but I'll bet they soon pass off right? The further away from fags you get the weaker the cravings and the less the amounts, honestly! Thanks so much for the hugs jammy, though he's a lot better now and we had a beautiful day out, it was perfect, cooler too which was a blessing.

choille, that is marvellous to hear!!! :D 4 months is a good long while and you had so little help to guide you along, BUT you made it and are doing just GREAT. Be so very proud of all you've accomplished choille...it's all YOURS!!! :T Thanks a lot, DH is much better now, thankfully.

I'm closing off with the quote below from choille, she is soooo right in what she says folks, believe me...and her!

Morning all. Great to hear you are off the weed and very happy about it, Choille, Oldreekie, Tippytoes and Jammie.

Funnily enough I had another dream last night where I was smoking roll ups. I was in the company yesterday of my friend who smokes them so maybe that's where it came from.

This particular lady has had and still has many complications and operations which I am sure smoking has not helped, yet she still smokes.

We had a flurry of newbies not so long ago, who seem to have disappeared but I really hope it's because they are too busy and that they will come back to us.

Well done to all of you. :j

Well thought I would report in as its been awhile. 7 weeks now without a smoke and 5 weeks without NRT (couldnt afford it anymore so just decided to go cold turkey). Cravings have compleatly gone can now even be around smokers without wanting one which I think is a good change. So to all of those who are just starting their journey good luck and you CAN do it.

    Hi guys

Thought I would join in for a bit of support - currently on Day 2 of stopping smoking! :j

Today was hard as I was at work and used to have a regular routine of coffee - fag - coffee - fag - coke zero - fag - etc etc But I did it.

I am attending a stop smoking service group and using patches. I have attempted quits before and the most successful was using this method but I am really determined this time - mainly due to the money factor and also the guilt that my OH is saving up loads of money for our wedding in 2 years, while I am in debt and WAS puffing away!

So here's to me and all of you on our journey to being Smoke-Free!
    Best of luck.
    X:j

MZ Grim - excellent stuff. Please don't get complacent and think you could just have the one. I did that 20 years back after stopping for 4 months & that was me back on the fags within a few weeks.

Savetospend - You can do it. Great that your OH doesn't smoke & you can put the money towards clearing your debt.

    All the best.

HOWEVER still going strong here :j My fiance is now counting it as a month off the weed in his head but it's actually 4 weeks...which is still 3 weeks, 6 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes more than I thought he'd do :D Still very proud of him.

Hope everyone's still going strong. Anyone seen Dazco?

Keep on keeping on peeps! We don't NEED the WEED!!
