Hi - Neenie - Good for you not having a fly puff - that's great news.

I doubled the dose a few days back one at night now too & today I've felt really queasy on & off most of the day.
I notice that tomorrow the tablets double in strength - That'll be the start of week two on them. I hope I don't feel any queasier than I do today.
The dream thing is quite amazing - I've had some really involved ones about all sorts of mad things & people appearing in them that I haven't seen in ages.

    Hi choille,

Upping the dose didn't seem to make much difference to me - still feel equally as queasy, no worse. A friend of mine has had it pretty bad though, and the leaflet says if you're having trouble coping with the symptoms then speak to your doc who may drop your dose to two 0.5mg tablets daily....

    Good luck with it!

Just a quick check in to see how we're all doin :) Weather is cold and crisp but lovely and sunny here. Amazing how it not being so dark in the morning can brighten the mood. Dog's happy - he'll get walked a lot more!
Might be worth speaking to the doc Choille, although I know you've not had the best of support in that direction but they have to take you seriously now! Are you feeling really yukky? Is it putting you off the fags?
I'm still of them and feeling strong. Was in 'hell's kitchen' ( only joking - my friends' house ) with no less than 4 smokers. The big test will be having a drink with smokers - I've only managed a couple of glasses of wine on my own.
Even the morning craving is getting weaker now - I have breakfast instead!! And if I get a strong craving in the day at home, I do a couple of rows of the Aran jumper - very distracting!
    Have a great day all.

I've got an appointment on Thursday with the same doc I initially saw.

Got a phone call from the surgery to say the nurse who was supposed to phone me today re some support is going to be off work for a very long time & no one else is trained in offering support - so that's out the window.

  • That's really disappointing. Good job you found this forum, then. The online chat thing on that stop smoking website sounded like a great idea too, but I think the counsellors are only on in the evenings?

This is a good forum & I'll lean on you lot.

It was disappointing as it seemed like they were going to put the nurse in place for me but sounds like she's off long term on leave, or sick.

Still you lot are doing well. I'll take my inspiration from you.

hi all, just an update really, gave up in oct using champix and for prob 2 months things went well, and then for me it went pair shaped...... i started becoming extremely paranoid and had no patience. hubby of 16 years became a problem ( in my head) and i hated being around anyone... still stayed off the ciggies untill last month then unfortunately i am now having the odd one, and have had to go on anti depressants to try and combat this. good luck to anyone giving up, but a word of warning to those using champix..... just be aware and look out for any oddities.

Just jumping in here choille to say please don't alarm yourself by Claire's words and what happened to her. We're all individuals (see my words to you below) and what affects one doesn't necessarily do so to another.

Well done Neenie_o! It's good that you didn't even have to resist the ciggie, sounds like you're well on the way! I agree with speaking to your doc if it gets too bad.

All the best for you choille, lets hope you stay ok now it's in your system. However, if you can't get help from your Dr or the Nurse, how about chatting to your Pharmacist, and if that's no good then use your own judgement with the amount you use and the way you feel. It's good to know we're inspiring on here too!!;)

Good for you hellnearth! Having breakfast at a more weak time is excellent!! So is doing a couple of rows of your Aran jumper when getting strong cravings! You're doing exactly what's best!!! :T

Great news janiebaby, thanks for letting us know.

Oh Claire, I was so saddened to hear your news, you'd been doing so wonderfully well too. Some folk get on great with Champix, while others just can't take it. How about trying again without using anything, or maybe with the help of a little gum. You've done so very well so do try to keep up your great achievement - and don't let Champix beat you!!! If you want to then by all means PM me as I'd love it if you didn't quit! Stay strong and continue on that journey Claire, you won't regret it come the end!! :)

Keep up the marvellous work everyone and IF you're having worries then please consult your Dr, Nurse or Pharmacist. Never be afraid to reach out for help or advice, we'd all sooner you do that than risk failing to quit! Another day today folks, and if perhaps it's not such a good one then never judge how you feel one day and think you'll do so the next as it's usually the complete opposite. Always keep looking ahead and keep busy in between whiles!

Sue, forever wishing you ALL well and smoke-free!! :)
