Well done FEE 100 - 8 weeks is fantastic.
Thank you for the welcome.I am a non-smoker :j last cigarette 10th February 20100 -
Hey everyone, just popping in to say hi, and well dones to everyone. Great to see you Janiebaby.
Captainspam WTG!!!
I'm now on 1M, 1W, 2D and 20h - and have NOT smoked 530 cigarettes, have gained back 2 days of my life and have saved A LOT!!!
Great to see this thread still working.
Best wishes ole reekie. Unfortunately I have to agree and say that NHS Scotland have tragically let us down in terms of support, and NHS England aren't interested in anyone north of the border! Perhaps a personal email to Nicola Sturgeon might resolve the issue - someone needs to tell her the service isn't working!
Anyway, willpower alone is what will get you through. Cold Turkey seemed to be appropriate post Xmas, and it still seems to be working now.
Best of luck xxx0 -
Wishing you all the very best with your quit oldreekie. I used this thread a lot in the early days - I found it helped to write down my thoughts and feelings, the messages of support were so encouraging and it helped to be amongst other people who truly knew how it felt to give up.
Please stay determined and focused and if you find it hard pop on here and have a rant and rave.
All the very best.

Evening everyone *waves*
I hope everyone's well and is still fighting the thoughts of them nasty fags.
I'm doing very well still smoke free i'm nearly into my 3rd week now :j
Its really good as people at work have given up to too so its making me slightly competitive.
Im sorry to hear you story Clair regarding your experience of champix, its really strange how it can really effect some people and not others. I've not had any problems so far except abit a of wind and the odd vivid dream.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
That's a fellah stclair, tell it how it is - wind 'n all!!! :rotfl: Well done though, especially for encouraging those at your works!!! :T
Hi oldreekie and a very warm welcome to the thread and to MSE! I hope we can help in your desire to quit, and that you can muster all the willpower possible to be able to do so too! Come on here and tell us your exact feelings as often as you like, it all helps as you probably know. Use your forthcoming stay in hospital, and the time leading up to it, to really get your health back in far better shape. Don't allow yourself to be a slave to fags any longer!! So many folk have quit by using this thread (and the one before), let yourself be one of the successes too oldreekie!!

Just popping in to say hi to all you quitters out there, especially you Old Reekie. What a fabulous name. They ought to call the fags that. "Old Reekies" - just imagine?
Well I have wind and depression today and am off the cigs for nigh on 11 months now!! I think stopping smoking can bring out a hell of a lot of emotions which have been suppressed and by the same token quitting does not mean you wave a magic goodbye wand to having the blues either. I just think that feeling guilty, smelly and anxious about smoking is a problem I no longer have.
I suffer with a lot of acid indegestion and today it is getting me down. At least though I know it is not being aggravated by smoking!
Anyway well done everyone and to Clair who has blipped, don't worry you will soon be wanting to quit the nicotine very soon again. All these attempts do finally end up in being successful - I am sure of it.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
