i'm back already with positive news!! :j:j read the whole book in one day (although did have my doubts whether to finish it as then you have to have your last cig)..
BUT, i feel fantastic..barely had an urge to smoke, if i do then it goes as quick as it came..feel so different to last few times i've tried to quit!
i know i can actually do it this time, just needed to change my mindset..
big thanks for all the continued support on here, :T0 -
Hi Guys
Ive not been doing so well recently, I know its no excuse but I have been really bad with my nerves. It was awful like I was in a constant state of panic. Went to see my dr and he said they would keep an eye on me. Ive also had a problem with my right hand side of my body he said it was my nerve endings, I looked it up on the internet and it said it could be caused by smoking. What I dont understand is why it happened after I had given up. If anybody could advise me I would be greatful.

JoJo not sure if you are saying you have slipped up again? If so, you need to Big just forgive yourself and get back on board. Smoking never improves anything - even though nicotine will promise us it will help us through any kind of moment, whether difficult or not.
I don't think any of us are in a position to know medically why you should be suffering this problem, but if you are in a highly anxious state, then you can manifest in all sorts of physical problems.
So sorry to hear you are feeling like this. Big hug from me.
I have a friend who was diagnosed with claudication of the arteries. The blood was not getting to her legs and it is caused mainly by smoking. She had a major operation and was warned to stop smoking. Guess what, two years later, she is still smoking despite having, diabetes, thyroid problems and a host of other medical probs.
Another lady I know had a stroke, again caused by smoking and also alcohol. She is still puffing away. This horrible drug has such a terrific hold over us. I believe we battle for our lives with this chemical. Both my friends are relatively young - in their early forties! Hope you can sort this out and if you are smoking again, find the strength to quit again. XXGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

BIG HUG from me too jojododd, i reckon the best place for medical advice would be back to your GP he/she will know your history etc i think looking on the internet can be a dangerous thing as advice sought can be misleading and cause further worries and concern , stay with our support network too on this thread we'll help all we can , best of luck x x0

Hi Jo jo - sorry to hear things aren't too good with you. I think that you need to go back to your GP & try and do something relaxing as a habit. Kalm tablets are quite good for times of stress & are herbal as is Bach's Rescue Remedy.
I've just smoked my (hopefully) last ciggie & I've just thrown the packet with 5 left over cigs in the stove, I threw in a packet of tabacco I found earlier & I've washed the ashtray. I'm going to brush my teeth & have an early night.
All the best everyone - thanks for being here.0 -
Lol, Janiebaby, Cody sleeps in exactly that position quite frequently...........and snores. They are such characters, aren't they?
Choille will be thinking of you today and wishing you all the strength and willpower in the world. If you need to talk, try my home phone first - our mobile signal is pretty iffy here, but is better when I'm out and about.
JoJo sorry to hear you're not feeling so good, especially when you were doing so well and sounding so positive. But there are definite highs and lows to this quitting business and I think they will go on for a while. Are there any groups or a counsellor in your area? I think you'd find the support very helpful and it can boost your confidence in stopping. They're also trained in relaxation techniques etc to help you with some of the symptoms of withdrawal.New CC starting balances for 2014: BC: £2780.00 (2717.45) MBNA: £2185.72 (2160.72)
