  • Hands up, bought 10 cigarettes on Saturday afternoon. This e- cig sort of burns my tongue if that makes any sense ? I know I worked hard at becoming addicted to smoking, the taste etc shame I can't apply the same principles to this.
Anyway I have cut down, have two left, see how we go.

    Practise makes perfect DC! :)

I am still not smoking. I was very ill last week, wont go into too many details but I am recovering now and starting to feel a bit more human. The doctor has told me to take it easy which is not easy to do when you have a physically demanding job.

Anyway I will not be reporting any weight stuff this week as I just do not need the added pressure of worrying about my body at this time.

It's funny because my loved one said to me last week "I suppose it does not help that you have given up smoking". He was referring to how low I was feeling and how in the past I used to smoke when things got on top of me.

I told him that despite everything, I would not resume smoking - it would seem such a negative step to take. So here I am, going through some tough stuff, but one problem I do not have is a smoking addiction and that is something to be very very grateful for.

Good luck for the week everyone. X

Not to worry DC, at least you admitted it and, hopefully, are trying again to quit the stuff. I wish you well, really I do. I know nothing about the e-cigs so have no idea about it feeling as though it's burning your tongue. All I can suggest is that, you keep on with plenty of perseverance, hopefully it'll get you where you need to be soon. Keep an eye on the board and keep talking to us...and we'll keep being hopeful for you!;)

Sorry to hear about your health larmy, do try to act on your Drs advice as much as your work allows. For the smoking related problems, you'll soon be finding things much easier as you get further and further away from your 'previous life'! Good of your loved one to show such support and love, beautiful.

Take care everyone and stay strong - you know you CAN do so!

larmy that's a really positive way of seeing things - it is one less thing to stress about. I know if I used something as an excuse to smoke now I would be so upset with myself.

Different corner, just a set back that's all. I don't know much about these ecigs but I'm thinking that the action of smoking something means you are not breaking a habit so even though no nicotine is going in you are still doing what you did before and therefore you have the physical act of smoking on your mind?

You've done so very well feedum, isn't it a great feeling when you know you've mastered it for GOOD!!! Congratulations on such great success!!! :T Please keep on updating us to help spur the others on. :D

Very well done Stupotstu!! :T and a CM level of 2 down from 32is terrific!!! Keep as far away from traffic as possible, that'll help in getting it down to a big fat 0. Keep up the marvellous work and don't let anyone influence you, nor any problem, row, stress etc cause you to "have just one!" It won't help the situation and will make you furious with yourself, as you possibly know already! This time Stu....this time!!! :D

Great going ClipClop! 6 days is brilliant, one more and you'll have made it to your first week of being free!!!! :T Lewki and yourself could be stable-mates and urge each other on! As I've just said to Stu: Keep up the marvellous work and don't let anyone influence you, nor any problem, row, stress etc cause you to "have just one!" It won't help the situation and will make you furious with yourself, as you possibly know already! This time ClipClop....this time!!! :D

You both CAN do it...and remember...better health...more money to save and a far better and healthier you!!! :D :j All the very best ALL.

i didnt realise this thread was here! Just had it pointed out to me.

I've been quit 6 months now. I quit because i had a severe sore throat and was getting ill alot (more colds and sore throats than ever!). I had been smoking for 8 years but it has certainly made a difference to my health, i havent been ill since *touch wood*.

Anyway keep at it everyone. Maybe even join me by putting the money you're saving into a sealed jar like the sealed pot challenge found here on MSE?

    Good luck and stay strong!

    Hi Bufger!

Good to see you came over, though I thought you'd only recently given it up. Having been smoke free for a whole SIX months  is amazing and you really should be so very proud of yourself and all you've achieved!!! :T I was so pleased to see you've only smoked for 8 years, good for you to realise all the harm and ailments that come with such an awful habit. Well done on making yourself a non-smoker!!! :D

Well done for taking up the Sealed Pot Challenge!;)
