I've just noticed your weight larmy - you are only 10 stone 3 lbs anyway - I really wouldn't be worrying about it!
You haven't seen how tall I am - he he. It's true though my weight is not a police emergency. Going to take it slow and steady. Thanks.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hello...a couple of you may recognise me....it was 12 months ago I was here and very proud that I had given up smoking....well you guessed it I am back - smoking again and have been since January
Well, I have my patches and will be ranting on here as of tomorrow morning. Last time it really helped me logging on and venting my frustration, but from memory the craving quickly passes in about the time it takes me to write a note on the forum!!
So here we go again - actually looking forward to it in a strange way
So be prepared for a miserable wotsit for the next couple of days lol
Speak soon!!0 -
oooops, my signature is well out of date...but all positive now
I will get around to working it out, but shows how long ago I was posting0 -
Well done for having another try Lewki - very best wishes to you. Looking forward to reading your posts!!
Have you reached the stage where it just all seems too disgusting for words? At least now you will be forewarned about the folly of having a puff or just one.

Hi Different_Corner! I remember you well, though I wondered if you just might have come back to say you'd quit. Never mind, one day! Keep on taking in all you read on here and one of these fine days it'll click for sure! :j Keep up the absorbing and we'll keep on trying to hypnotise you to........STOP for good!!!!
Even though you had that slip up karmacookie, I still can't help but think you've done well and learned from it as you sounded disgusted with yourself the next day, sounds like a quitter in progress to me!!!
Puzzled "ray of sunshine? You've got the wrong person surely!!Fantastic news on you having achieved 2 whole months & 2 days (!!), you've done brilliantly and I hope you're really proud of yourself!!! :T You're really getting there Puzzled, keep it up and keep stashing the money away as a reminder of all that good health saved!! See, it's not JUST money! Be proud Puzzled, you truly deserve to be!
CONGRATULATIONSon that beautiful bundle you now have Chrissie!!! :j I couldn't be happier for you!I have to agree that it's marvellous to cuddle the first grandchild without feeling you might just make her/him smell of it. Even better to know that he'll NEVER smell it on or around you, what better incentive indeed? Please give him a loving cuddle from me. That's a really good way that you're viewing the wine gums and all the toxins you're now NOT inhaling! Keep it up Chrissie, though I know that doesn't need saying, and 13 weeks is amazing!!
Hiya Lewki, and good to see you again.Well done for having the courage to have another try! It's one thing to quit and fail that time, it's quite another to get back on the horse so to speak and start over again. That takes bottle and you have it. I really do hope that this time will be THE time that you'll quit for good!!!Come on here and rant all you like, you know by now that we don't mind miserable wotsits at all.!
Go on Lewki, do your utmost to get your health back on track THIS TIME!!! :j
Keep up the weight loss larmy, I'm sure if you could sort that out you'd be far happier with yourself...and with your well deserved non-smoking status too! You CAN do it, if you can beat one then you can beat the other!
All the very best to one and all, you know you can do this, and once you have you'll feel such a wonderful feeling of accomplishment!

Thanks people.
I'm actually getting excited at the the thought of being free....
Although I may have previously mentioned I'm a big AC fan, he worked for me once, I've actually ordered an electronic cigarette. I know AC warns against NRT but he's not working for me this time.
We'll see how this goes.DC.

Hi DC
Whatever works for you!
I read AC book at the start of the week. I really think it has helped my attitude to stopping smoking but there is still no way I'm throwing the nicotine patches away yet!
Thanks again for the encouragment Sue!
Good luck for another smoke free day folks x0 -
I'm getting my head into gear for tackling weight loss as well. Someone commented the other day that it was great how I hadn't put any on since stopping smoking and I guess that's the case, but it's a big 'fat' myth that smoking increases your metabolism. I was fat anyway so now I'm 10x healthier inside I intend to get my size sorted as well. In my experience and I know this isn't the same for everyone - smoking made me lazy and I have to get out of those habits.
I think also because I've felt quite virtuous that as the nurse always said every time I went in to see her 'the best possible thing you can do for your health is to stop smoking' I kind of put the weight issue to the side - after all I was a smoking overweight person now I'm just overweight so that's good, yeah? Well no. Not good enough.
No big diets or anything like that, just a shift in thinking and basically not being such a pig and doing more exercise.0
