    Hi Guys

Good to see you are all still smokefree:j
Ive got a question and Im hoping someone can help as Im really panicking.............

Hubby and myself have Just got back from the NRT Clinic and hubby blew a one on the monitor, I blew a six, which has really upset me as I have not had a ciggie or been near anyone who has smoked. I haven't been out of the house since saturday morning so it cant be car fumes etc....... The lady asked if we had had our boiler checked recently and my hubby clicked straight away as to where she was going...........
She asked me to blow again and I blew an 8.
We had 2 of our children with us, the eldest has been out most of the day but the youngest has been in with me all day. Eldest blew a 1 but youngest blew a 3.
She has said it must be something in the house. Hubby told her how we are tired most of the time and feeling rundown. I am in the house virtually 24/7 except for a few hours at night when we nip out..............

Does anyone have any info on this sort of thing? Surely my house cant be raising my co2 levels?

Hubby has got a monitor thing which he is going to set up............

    Im feeling really worried now..........
    Quit Day - 8th July 2009.

Kezzae I would be really worried too. You should not be getting a reading like that should you? Does this mean something could be wrong with your boiler. I don't know much about these things but you should get it checked as they can be dangerous.

Great to see you here Jo! You're right about writing all the feelings down. If everyone also runs through their posts every so often, it shows them just how far they've travelled and how great they've done. It also doesn't allow complacency to creep in either.

Keep an eye on your footsteps (posts) folk, you've come a very long way and even if it's only a few days or weeks, it's still YOUR success and a heck of an achievement!! :T Jo should know, she started the first thread off and SUCCEEDED....more than that...she wants YOU all to do the same! :D :j :D

Great news from you kindofagilr!!! 77 days (11 weeks) for you and 38 (5 weeks & 3 days) for your hubby is really excellent!! :T You've both done yourselves proud and I bet you're so very chuffed you haven't puffed!! I can certainly remember you, larmy & SandC will too for sure. Keep up the fantastic work!!

Great news larmy!!! I think those revels can be put down toa one-off treat for staying smoke-free! :T Very well done on the 2 lb weight loss too! View it as a great hunk of fat and keep up the loss! BTW, I think we both must be at that certain age as my metabolism is very slow. Have you had your thyroid checked?

Brilliant work Washer!! :T Your great husband is being so good in supporting you so well, the flowers shows the care and also shows how he doesn't mind taking the flack at all. Just like childbirth, you'll still get something wonderful at the end if it all (sooner in fact!) with much better health. Concentrate on all the positives such as your teeth looking whiter, tongue being a lovely pink colour and your purse being so much heavier. You're doing great, Washer, keep it up!!

Hi Kezza. You're right to be concerned and should get the people responsible for checking it, in to do so, pronto! It seems as though you're right in thinking that you and your youngest are showing the highest levels due to being home so much. Get the boiler checkers to give you a time for when they'll be there and until then go on out and get as much fresh air as you can. If you have relatives or good friends locally then go and pay them a visit. If you've all been feeling tired and run-down most of the time lately, then those are certain symptoms too.

You're right to be worried, but don't panic too much. Thank Heavens you both gave up the weed!!! Take great care Kezza and well done on coming on and saying about it. This is a really caring thread as you know, so please let us know how things are going asap.

    Love, Sue.

  • Hi again

    Well, it's been a week :T

Although I have to confess I fell off the wagon on Saturday night :o

The strange thing is, since then it's became easier. don't misunderstand me, I really enjoyed the couple of rollies that I had, but I felt terrible afterwards. i felt really useless, my mouth and teeth had that horrible coating over them and I woke up the next morning coughing!

Well done washer, you're doing great!

Kezzae, while you are in the house, keep your windows open to get plenty of fresh air in and get your boiler checked asap. Just as well you decided to give up the weed, if not you could have been slowly poisoned!

I do think about you Different Corner and I know you follow the thread. You can and will do it. As you know I have shared with you, that I have made so many quit attempts that I have lost count, but here I am. I am not resting on my laurels but at the same time I feel more sure than ever in the past.

    Good luck. x

  • Hey all,

Well done on staying smoke free :D

I totally forgot to pop in yesterday, i didnt realise until about 3pm that yesterday was my 2 month mark :) am very pleased with myself and feel so much better for not smoking.

Stay strong guys and i hope that you find the cause soon Kezzer!!!

Larmy well done on the weight loss x

Sueu our fearless leader, thank you for the continued support on this thread and the sealed pot, you really are a ray of sunshine :)

karmacookie dont worry about the slip up, we all make mistakes, just see it as a bad day and start again :) Sometimes it really helps me to say "today i will not smoke" and then break each day down into achievable chunks, it helps me see past the cravings and means that instead of saying im never going to have a fag again i say im not smoking today and it seems so much more achievable.

I am now determined to start to shift the stone I have put on since quitting smoking. The wine gums are long gone & hopefully the snacking is now under control. I realised I was rewarding myself for the 'sacrifice' I thought I'd made..... some 'sacrifice' giving up inhaling 4000 toxic chemicals approx 400 times (20 cigs) a day. I feel I have now re-educated my brain so as not to feel deprived. I also have a new grandson & this is the first grandchild that will NEVER smell stale tobacco on me - what better incentive? Good luck to all fellow quitters.
