Feel mega fat tonight cos of all the junk i have been eating today, I'm a big F1 fan so that was on telly, so sat for 2 hours and done !!!!!! all except eat eat eat. But i'll start the diet again tomorrow. It's 3 weeks on tuesday since i stopped smoking, apart from my little slip up in the middle it's gone really well, and don't want a cigarette any more, am finding that i am not looking for them either. I could however, when my daughter or OH are smoking I could quite happily have one with them if that makes sense. Don't have that same urge when i'm with smokers at work. Weird eh?

Looks like there's a few of us had piggy weekends then. Back to the diet on monday morning. Straight to tesco on way to work for a bucketful of fruit and veg in the morning. I am determined that I will go back to the shops soon for those size 14 jeans!

Wow mazza, have to congratulate you on your weight loss :j Don't know how the hell you've done it though! I've put on half a stone since stopping, though I was overweight to start with by a stone. Kept saying I'd stop smoking once I'd lost that stone, which of course never happened, so just took the bull by the horns eventually. Now I'm a stone and a half over-weight

I've tried the fruit and carrot thing, but they just don't appeal somehow ... only crisps, nuts and chocolates will do the job :o

Must, must make an effort this week .. fed up of feeling like a beach whale!

  • Well I'm back on track now after my blip. I don't want to smoke so I'm not using it as an excuse to fall off the wagon.

I have put on quite a lot of weight suddenly. I was a bit too skinny but I hate feeling uncomfortable in my clothes. I feel particularly fat after the weekend.

During the week I am very active as I have 2 toddlers and don't drive and everywhere that we need to go is at least a 20 minute walk away and the walk home is all uphill - quite hard work with 1.5 stone son plus shopping in the pram and 2.5 stone daughter standing on a buggy board! I've been eating a lot of cheese and I think this has really chonked it on. Oh and also chocolate. I'm cutting out the cheese to start with and am going to try to start doing some exercise when I get time.

Funnily enough I didn't put on any weight while on the high strength patches - they must affect your metabolism/appetite in the same way that smoking does. Since I've gone cold turkey I just want to eat all the time when I'm not busy.

The thing that is most depressing about my blip is that I just sat there smoking as though I'd never stopped. It wasn't that it felt all that great - it just felt like something natural that I do. How can it be natural to habitually put sticks in your mouth full of cancerous chemicals and then set fire to them? Why do I want to do something so dangerous which also smells so disgusting???
