Hi all
Can't believe I'm on day 51 now!
Still feel vulnerable sometimes but each day I feel a bit stronger.
Besides my just turned 3 year old now follows me EVERYWHERE and constantly asks "what are you doing Mummy?" so I'd be busted in no time if I started again!
Keep up the good work everyone0 -
6 weeks done now and starting 7th. It going really well now and I have lots of lovely money saved. I did not save any money last time and went back on them but now every time I pass my wee tin I shake it, by July next year I will have 1,900 pounds for a lovely holiday for me and my family and be lots healthier too ;o)) Can't believe I have done it and so glad I have stayed off them. Well done to all on here we have to keep it up, gain strength from each other0

OMG, day 35, can't believe it! I wish I could say I don't miss them anymore ... I do and could sometimes kill for one  I don't remember in the past when I've given up ever missing them this much, although maybe my mind's just blanked it out.
Still got this horrid taste in my mouth, which I just can't get rid of. I'm treating it for oral thrush, but don't really know for certain if it's that or not. Whatever it is, wish it would go away, it's making me really self- conscious and my partner's confirmed my breath smells "stale"
On the plus side, I have more money in my pocket and am feeling very proud of myself. Must admit, we have a lot of expenses at the moment and I really can't afford to smoke, which helps!
Great to read how well everyone's doing ... well done and keep going!

Day 26 on Champix - lost count of days of no smoking, around 20 if you don't count my little blip when I had my accident.
Champix isn't suitable for everyone, due to the nature of the drug, it's not recommended for anyone who suffers from depression or anxiety. Tbh, I have been feeling quite down the past week on it, dunno if it's the pills or the situation going on in life.
Have decided to work my holiday from work, so i won't be tempted by sitting at home doing nothing. So only have 2 days off instead of 7.
Arm is much better, and will be back swimming this week.
Gone off food again though, everything tastes bloody awful, so am surviving on coffee and a few spoonfuls of whatever the little one is having for dinner. I'm probably one of the few who can lose weight while stopping smoking
Gonna go try eat something now, even if it's just a piece of fruit. I want my appetite back!!!4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Congratulations ALL!!! Especially you WHWD, excellent!!! :T You too adamsmum!!! :T
You also are getting well into it Mimi and should be so proud of all you've done - so far!! Are you sure you haven't go catarrh problems that are giving you the awful taste and breath problem? Why not pop and see your GP and check about the throat problem and ask about the taste too. If you could get shot of both of those it'd make you feel so much better.
All the very best everyone, you are ALL doing so very well and have come so far. Keep strong!

Hi All
Just checking in, hope everyones okay. Well I am on day 37 now, it is starting to go really fast now whereas the first week or two seemed to take forever. I think that it is getting a bit easier now and that I have come through the worst, but I am constantly on my guard and not getting complacent .
Keep going strong everyone, we will get there
Chris x

Hi all, i hope you are all doing well. Its day 35 and i can't quite believe it really. 5 weeks ago today my quest started and it has been a rollercoster ride. The first 2-3 weeks went really slow and was quite painful, but the last 2-3 weeks has been excellent and fun. I'm starting to look at smokers and feel sorry for them rather than feel like i want a smoke. I feel sorry that they are still trapped.
To anyone thinking of stopping soon and viewing this thread, my advice would be...go for it!!! you have nothing to lose and when you are at a stage you are happy again and probably happier than you have been for a long long time. You have nothing to lose by stopping, only so much to gain.
I hope everyone is enjoying this nice sunny weather!!!Mortgage overpayments 2009

Well done Chris, a great attitude, a winning one too all being well. Same goes for you also Dreamingalound!! You're both about the same with weeks, both getting a real kick from the freedom that quitting brings and it's good to see. Once we get to the "I really have quit" stage, the feeling sorry for those who still smoke seems to affect all of us non-smokers! That phrase sounds so good. Keep just as you are both, you're doing wonderfully!

Day 28 Champix - Day 18 (ish)? of no smoking -
Feeling a lot better in myself today, no cravings to have a smoke although it would be easier to have one. Had my weigh in yesterday and have lost another 1.8kg which brings me to a total of 19.5kg or 3stone 1lb for the oldies amongst us. Which made me eat like a pig yesterday, so hopefully that's the appetite returning too.
Have smoking cessation group tonight so hopefully the carbon levels will be a bit lower this week. Although might not go much lower with the lorries at work.
Told one of my colleagues he could smoke in the car yesterday as it didn't bother me, he refused and smoked outside, bloody hell, did any of us realise how bad it smells on someone in an enclosed space? The smell when he got in the car was awful!!! And yes you do feel sorry for smokers when you see them outside in the rain, or coughing their guts out whilst trying to catch a bus. The one that makes me feel really bad is seeing pregnant women or young mums smoking. Not criticising them btw, I done it myself, just feel more sorry for them for some reason.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Its that smokers denial again I think - its the only reason I can come up with!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
