Well some of you know i'm going through some personal siht in my life atm. So have lost rather a lot of weight, 2stone 11lbs in a very short period of time, so i'm sitting here at lunchtime and had a terrible craving for crisps. Think this is a mental craving, and although I am trying to force myself to eat normally, i've had no appetite whatsoever, hence the weight loss. So I just thought, to hell with it, I'm having my crisps! If I put some weight on it will cover what I've already lost. Still no cravings for a cigarette, but still groping around for them when i have a coffee, or get into the car, sat down in my mother's house and was groping around for my cigs. But as you say, this will get better when i'm out the habit. going good so far tho :T4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

Im v proud of OH too as all his mates smoke. We had seperate weekends away to see our freinds from home, both got blind drunk and neither smoked.
Im eating my body weight in Ritz crackers at the moI cant stop
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi everyone,
I found this weekend to be the best one so far for not smoking.
I was actually feeling quite smug yesterday as I got my 7 year old son a bike for his birthday, as I used the money that I have been putting aside everyday for the past 3+ weeks. It was such a great feeling seeing him dart around on this brand new bike knowing that the money I would of spent on fags paid for that.
It makes doing all this worth it!
Hope you have all had a good day.Pay off all your debt by Xmas 2012Aim £8200Total so far £3700Left £45000 -
Hi folks, great to hear that you are all going so well!
I am still plagued by a bit of a cough which comes and goes but it's definitely improving.
Pangs are virtually non existent and I feel I have far more energy.
Dreamt again last night that I had a ciggie. Just one of those things, I read about this. Doesn't mean you want to have a cig, it's almost like a nightmare. If you dream that someone dies and you wake up full of relief then you have had a nightmare, not dreamt of something you wanted to happen. So don't worry if, like me, you sometimes dream of smoking, whether it's letting yourself down by lapsing or whether you are dreaming that you smoke all the time. It's only a dream...0 -
Morning everyone and congratulations on keeping up the good work :j
Three weeks today amazingly since my last ciggie! Still have a cough and slight sore throat and have noticed a horrible "metallic" taste in my mouthAt first I thought it might be some sort of mercury leakage from a filling, but I only went to the dentist 3 weeks ago and have had no dental work done for ages, so not sure whether to hang fire and see if it's the taste buds "waking up". I mentioned this to my sister who gave up 2 years ago and she said she had the same sensation when she stopped smoking and it eventually went away. Anyone else got this?
Also feeling very fat and trying hard to cut down on eating, but very difficult when I'm starving all the time.
On the plus side, I'm thinking of smoking less now, though I do still think about it throughout the day (natural I suppose), my cough's no where near as bad as it was and I have more money in my pocket
Have a good day everyone

Hi
I've had loads of dreams about smoking where I've woken up relieved that I haven't smoked - I don't think I've had a dream like that for about a week now.
The irritability that I felt last week has gone now. I really think I'm over the worst now. Evenings are much better now - I'm used to a new routine (of scoffing cheese, crisps or chocolate).
Last weekend was the best so far - the weekend before that was the worst.
I still miss smoking in a way - because I have young children I have very little time to myself and I did used to cherish my little breaks especially at weekends when oh was at home. I need to find other ways of treating myself that don't involve spending money or damaging my health!0 -

I had the metallic taste and bleeding gums. I went to my dentist as I was due a check-up anyway and he said that it's quite common and our gums are getting their blood supply back which possibly accounts for the "iron" taste?
I am also eating a lot although not necessarily the wrong stuff. I am now the heaviest I have ever been and not happy about it. I have discovered a thing called a graze box so I am getting them twice a week sent to work to pick at something healthy.
Mumofcookers, what inspiration and I bet you were so chuffed with yourself for getting your DS's bike. I love it that my DS keeps telling me I stink nice:rotfl:
Well done everyone.

Hi All
Hope youre all doing okay. I must have had the worst nights sleep (if I can call it that) in my life last night. I must have woke up nearly every hour, it is doing my head in now. I have tried all sorts, herbal sleeping tablets, baths, exercise, hot chocolate, herbal teas, everything. I could just put my head down now and nod off, cant wait to get home.
Mazza- I am so sorry, I didnt see your message until this morning, but thank you so much for the offer it was really nice of you
Well everyone, keep strong

And you - well done. For me nearly 3 months, and I still have a disturbed sleep pattern, falling off easily, then waking up early morning on a regular basis! very odd indeed...:j0 -

That's what I'd have told you too.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0
