Eselt, I think all our feelings are with you at the moment at what must be an absolutely shocking time. I suppose words can't describe it so I won't even try to.
Your head is going to be screwed up enough. Feeling guilty about having a drink is only going to add to that mental turmoil.0 -
13/14 for me. And another Lardloss Low of 18stone 6Pounds0

Morning everyone, WB hope your doing o.k?
I am doing great, had a brilliant dream last night, and slept well again. Im not having any "cravings" for alcohol and haven't had any since last week which is great.
NTC I can understand how you feel, as thats my next challenge, drinking responsibly, and I think that might be harder than not drinking at all!£100 - £10,0000 -
Still 10 for me.
On the positive side, it was a relatively small amount compared to most of last year and 10/11 is as well as I have done since March 08.0 -
Good morning everyone,
That's two days for me. To my shame, I can't remember the last time I didn't drink for two consecutive days. I could almost hear my liver groaning with relief last night!
My DH insisted on having a large glass of my favourite wine with dinner, so it was dandelion and burdock to the rescue for me and it was surprisingly easy to resist.
jjef, I'm with you on the fizzy water, but it's been the 2ltr bottles I've been knocking back. I've realised that whatever I'm drinking, I seem to drink a hell of a lot of it. Maybe just replacing the booze with gallons of dandelion and burdock will work for me???!!!0 -
Every day is a new day for us. You could say I have only been sober since 7am this morning, even though i have not had a drink for over 16 months.
Just one day at a time. We have a daily reprieve from this illness.
Eselt - sorry things got so horrid. You are not starting again as you have all the wisdom learned from your long period of sobriety behind you, and you will have learnt very valuable lessons from your minor blip.
I am sure you will take it in your stride, as you are an intelligent, sensitive, and much loved person on this forum. All the best.0 -

"Well, week 5 of no alcohol and I see a different person in the mirror. My eyes no longer look dull and vacant, they actually have a little sparkle and my skin doesn't look like uncooked pastry anymore. I feel that I have won a battle but not yet the war. Hope everyone else is at the point they want to be, I never want to be that person I was, I have been tempted but I just think back to what I had become. The sun is shining at the moment and I feel good and want to continue to have the sun in my life."
Hi eselt  Not sure I have any useful advice for you, but good to see you back and determined :T :TNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

Hi all- thank you all so much for the messages, its humbling to know people have missed me!!! Well, have shaken off the black dog, given myself a serious talking too, and decided enough of this self indulgent, self pitying introspection for me- TARGET Sobriety, ACTION Get on with it and stop feeling sorry for yourself (message to self not others!!!). 'Occasional relapse' is not good enough- I want more than that, because I've had a good taste of what sobriety is like and I know thats how I want to feel all the time. So I'm gonna do it.
Winebox, I'm so sorry to hear your news, I've just caught up with the thread- thinking of you. Hope everyone else is OK today- stirling effort everyone.0 -

Snap. Thats's exactly how I feel and I'm not going to let my saturday night blip get ME down either.
From one point of view it means my alcohol-free clock has been reset and is now back to 4 days,
However from another point of view it means I've only had a single night of drinking in 31 days. Thats fantastic (sorry for blowing my own trumpet)
EVERY day that any of us spends alcohol free is a bonus and a good win. Falling off the wagon is nothing, as long as you get back on as soon as you can and don't lose the motivation to quit0
