Hi guys! It's taken me a couple of days to read the entire thread, but I think I'm up to speed now and ready to join in please. I had my first AF day yesterday for I don't know how long. It's certainly the first one this year. I don't want to stop drinking altogether, but I do want to cut down drastically. Like a lot of others I've been very much a bottle-a-night girl for a long time, the problem is that when the bottle's gone I've started looking round for other alternatives.... you know the routine.
Certainly do, know the routine well
Anyway, I've packaged this as a New Year detox, health kick, weight-loss money-saving measure. Oh yes, it works so well on many levels! So as yesterday was my first AF, I'm going to very realistically go for 11/31 please.
good luck Andraste0 -

So 10/14 for me Lurkio please.

Get yourself some Becks alcohol free lagers, stick them in the chiller and splash in some lime - very close to the real thing.
I love my Becks - really helping me at the mo!

evening all :hello:
Worked out one of my main triggers today. Had a pretty tough day at work, very technical, lots of reading, thinking etc. Really feel like opening a bottle of the red stuff and quaffing it at high speed...
...but I won't. Trying to keep up with Captain Lurkio. 13/13 for me matey.
I suppose the bad night's sleep didn't help either. Got to that stage with a book where you have to read the rest of it. Then layed awake thinking about it for a while:mad: . Then No1 son woke up with nightmares so I had half an hour or so with him. It was probably approaching 3am when I got to sleep.
Looking forward to the half way point, it will be downhill from there.
Keep up the good work y'all

Hi all- sorry for not posting for ages but I've had a bit of a shocking family bereavement to deal with and I only got back from the funeral yesterday and everythings been a bit of a blur. But I do need to say something important, well its important to me anyway!, the death was treated as 'suspicious' because the person hadn't been to see their doctor in the previous week, and we all had to be interviewed by the police, and when the police left someone handed me a glass of brandy- and I drank it. And when everyone had gone I drank the rest of the whole bottle. There I've said it- I can't believe I fell at the first real hurdle, I feel so ashamed, and I've let you all down thinking I had beat this for a year and thinking I could give people advice but when push came to shove and something really difficult happened I just reverted to type. Thank god I got straight back on it the next day but to say I'm mortified is an understatement. Guys I'm so sorry.
Good luck to everyone with the current challenge, needless to say, I'm back to squre one and I will not drink in January at all- just got to focus.0
