  • thanks for the link Jo what a lovely song.

aaargh. You are not a failure at all, why not set a target you are confident you can reach. The way I am seeing this journey is that even one day without is better than I have been for years so it is in fact a success not a failure. Onwards and upwards :j

Im more focused on giving up smoking in a few days, but after a think, I didnt want to move over to alcohol instead so that will have to stop too.
Briefly - for about a year Ive been drinking every single day between 3 and 6pm, to the point where its now 2-6pm, sometimes earlier, and in larger amounts. No one believes me, but I can tell its going from a fun thing to do to a thing I NEED to do. I am still at a point where I can stop it, I just have to make the commitment. HOPEFULLY I can, and at the very least, only drink at the weekend, occasionally.

DP has just poured the last from the second bottle into his glass. Definitely no more for tonight.

    Tomorrow is a new day.

I don't have an alcohol problem but do enjoy a drink or two and have decided, as of today, to abstain for approximately 5 months. I am training for a marathon and drinking isn't going to help me.

So far so good... no drink today (and no craving for one either).
