Lurky,
Stick me down. On to day two...
Tomorrow will be the first tricky day for me as I am going out for a meal and bowling with good lady wife and friends. Confident I can be AF but don't think everyone does so hoping not some reverse pressure.
Also, slept terribly last night  . Think it is my mind not getting to sleep and keeping me awake due to me thinking over this thread and my plans to get debt free. I have always been rubbish at getting to sleep. I can spend hours lying there even if I was dozing off on the settee...Any suggestions?

Morning everyone. Going for my first AFD of January today. Got lots of housework to do so that will help keep my mind off the pop but actually I am more motivated by making sure I can knock off the first number on my signature as I am already one behind you all. Having an AFD on a Friday would have been unheard of before but I figure I have committed to pretty much every other day so some "difficult" days will have to be included.
If I am round here a lot today its because I think I will need your support. Good luck to everyone else29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
Go get 'em Needstochange. Maybe you should prepare a treat for this evening so you are not tempted to reward your hard days work with a glass of your favourite...

Yes thats a good idea. My "problem" area is being around other people and like you RC I will be subject to reverse pressure. I suspect a lot of my social circle have a bit of an issue with drink too although they would not admit it so they will not want to lose one of their "own" to soft drinks:rolleyes: The easiest way for me to do this would be to become a hermit but thats not really possible i guess:D Instead then I will be taking some personal responsibility and saying no.
No good suggestions re the sleep RC except to say maybe by drinking less you need less sleep anyway. I know drink comatoses me but that is not good sleep so could be you just need less.

Jo - too drastic!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:
Morning all - Aaagh & NTC good luck today. Hi B-R (or should that be brrrr!) & everyone else this chilly morn. Well done on all the AFD1s, & to the long-termers well done on getting through the whole festive season AF.
Was in a coma last night, slept through the alarm this morning & felt mega-groggy....huh!! I had a flu-ey bug all over Xmas & it's left me with a sinus infection, which is sort-of-helpful cos I feel less like drinking when I feel below par (& I know it's not a hair of the dog that's needed...).
AF Fridays are as rare as hens' teeth in my diary so here goes....I feel a bit guilty cos I'm actually hoping OH doesn't pop round for a drink as I would love to have an AFD2; will use my nose as an excuse not to have one if he does!
I've got a big smart diary to mark off AF days & keep a diet diary...it's very MSE cos it's a 1998 one completely unused but the days/dates are the same as 2009 heh heh.
Have a good day all; I'm in the office but it's ever so quiet.0
